I really am scared to trying any other pill! =/ I had such a rough time and my mom also did ask me to not try anymore even though I have only tried two she said she was very worried for me during that time and she really thought I had depression...my bf and I were talking and it seems like nothing else is that reliable as the pills...we're gonna probably stick around with conomds for w hile...maybe try different ones..gotta sacrifice! I was also looking into the cervical cap, it could be an option! doesn't sound bad at all...any p[ersonal experiences pls let me know! =)  I finally got across my bf and crying made him understand how bad I didn't wanna go back to hormones and wanted him to look for another method with me and not just say you choose one if youre fine with it so am I because it gave such responsibility that in my mind should be shared! anyways.. phew! that's it no more writing! thank you all for the answers =)

Hi you could try the mini or POP pill as I think its also known. I started on that and I didnt get on with it very well and Ive stopped taking mine aswell cos of how I was feeling, and even my hubby didnt like me being on them cos I was VERY angry all the time and everything annoyed me a billion times more than it usually would.

I think some women just keep trying them until they get the right one which takes a lot of patience. Maybe after you have a break, (beign careful in this time maybe using withdrawal aswell) you could try the POP and see if its better for you. I think it prob is the safest in the sence it stops ovualtion but thats prob why theres a bog effect on some women cos ur stopping something natural by tricking the body in a way.

Good luck Im sure ul find one that works, try talking to your bf again, but I guess its hard for men to fully understand really cos they dont get these kinda probs! (Lucky for them, can u imagine if they did! Prob would all end up single lol!)

Thank you Monkeyflower I have thought of trying different ones...and I know you'll understand when I say Im really scared..I felt so horrible when I was on them..you know nauceas and other physical effects would be nothing but being depressed and feeling sad all the time I don't think I could take it again...Im so scared that it could happen again scared to feel that way again after I feel so happy right now...it really makes me wanna cry. I was talking with my boyfriend about different methods he said any I decide we'll do but then I don't wanna feel like it would be my fault if I try something that turns out to be not so good and I get pregnant I don't want to feel guilty...he says if it was for him he would choose the pills just because is the safest method out but he doesn't wanna put me through them again if I don't want to..he's very supportive...but at the same time he's the guy and doesn't understand my fears and how it feels. I don't know what to do I really want to choose the best thing for us but Im so scared for me...should be a little issue but it feels like so much responsibility on me. would love to hear your opinion pls

Hi everyone! thank you for answering! =)  I did look up on the internet for info on the sponge! I just wanted some personal experiences with it but I guess it's not that used by people =S
I quit the pill three weeks ago because it made me a wreck and I couldn't take it anymore =( ...1st I was on OTC lo which gave me nauceas everyday! and because of that changed to Alesse which made me cry almost every two days for no reason...it just made me depressed...got to a point where I wasn't myself anymore..wasn't happy...it was mostly my boyfriend's idea to stop taking them, he said he missed the old me and was tired of seeing all the effects the pill had on me! Im happy of it feeling's wise some symptoms from leaving it but they say it's normal! I just need to look for a different method besidescondoms! we're both getting frustrated with them!

Not to change your mind, but there are soooooo many different pills, you may not want to give up yet. During the years I was on the pill, I tried a couple that gave me weird suicidal thoughts just before my period - but quite a few others that were just fine.

I agree, why did you quit the pill?

Anyway, I used the sponge a couple of times when I was having some problems on the pill, during its first incarnation wayyyy back in the 80s. It was okay. I didn't get pregnant. But I also didn't think it was anything particularly special. I went back on the pill as soon as I could :-)

I am not sure about the sponge; I haven't heard of it actually.  But have you considered NuvaRing or the Patch?
