Don't know who else to post this to as I know no names, however, I would like to know what the word Cystitis, acute, means.
I was diagnosed with this on March 6, 2014 when I had another UTI which I take daily an antibotic for.
Have no idea what cystitis, acute means.
I also have interstitial cystitis and was diagnosed in February this year and a bladder sling about 4 years ago and borderline ovarian cancer last year (thanfully now clear).. I am trying to control the IT pain with diet i.e. no fruit except pears and bluberries, no salad (inc tomatoes) except lettuce and cucumber. Only drinking decaff tea and water. No spices or other additives - I make my own stock and 95% of the time only eat protein as chicken or fish. Most of the time I feel reasonably Ok, certainly better than when I was first diagnosed, when I thought I would never go out of the house again. The pain was constant and was like labour pains when I passed urine, making me feel distressed and depressed. I sometimes have a type of swelling feeling as you describe when I have eaten something I shouldn't. I am not on medication at the moment. The feeling could be abnormal muscle activity around the bladder or vulvodynia, Both of these can be experienced alongside I.T., however, I agree that this should be diagnosed by your doctor. A good reading for suffers of IT is "The Interstitial Cystitis Survival Guide" by Robert Moldwin.
I have interstitial cystitis as well, and I can't really answer your question. I don't know if you could call your urologist and see if you can get an appt sooner? Maybe talk to the nurse there with your issues? I hope it gets better for you!
