I had 11 teeth pulled yesterday by a butcher of a dentist.   Anyway,my face is so swollen,my face is a tight balloon its bruising all over it. I feel like I'm going to puke Constantly.    Is this normal?  Will this go away.     ?  I don't think it matters, but I'm 31,and I have lupus.

Likely, it will go away over time. Sounds like your body went through a big stress and it's just reacting to that stress. As your mouth heals, the swelling should go down. If it has not reduced at all after three days, then go to a doctor and have it checked out. Now with lupus, if you find your inflammation getting drastically worse over the next day or so, go to the doctors anyway, earlier than the three day mark.

Tomorrow is the 3 day mark....I think I might go tomorrow.   I had a fever of 101 last night.      This pain is almost as bad as childbirth

Hi,
Definitely call your dentist, and if it becomes unbearable go to the hospital ER for assistance. The nausea may come and go for a day; try staying hydrated with water and get lots of rest.

Usually the first 3 to 5 days are the worst as far as swelling and bruising goes; you should be using cold packs (ice) on your face to bring down the swelling, for 20 minutes at a time, throughout the day. Also try to gargle with a salt water rinse throughout the day; mix 1/2 teaspoon of salt with 8oz. of very warm water, then use to rinse your mouth with. Stick with your liquid diet. By the 4th day you can try alternating between applying cold packs and then warm compresses to your face to help with bruising and swelling... If none of these seem to give you any relief, you must contact the dental office for further advice. I'm sorry you're having to go through this ~ hope you better soon.
