I have the same symptoms of the pain on my left ovary and is kind of shooting through to my back also. My last period was 5-19-10 so its coming up on 2 months without one. I have taken 3 pregnancy tests and all came back negative. My period has been irregular since I gave birth 6.5 months ago, but I'm still nervous I could be pregnant. I'm hoping this is just an ovarian cyst which I have a history of!

Well, for all of you wanting to get pregnant and hoping that you are, know that this alone can delay your period and make you believe you are experiencing many pregnancy symptoms, when you aren't. The more you read about pregnancy symptoms, the more symptoms you will THINK you are developing, because you want so badly to be pregnant. It is important to stay sane and not get obsessed over it. Don't google and read about all of the symptoms and about other people's experiences, or you will just convince yourself you are pregnant and this will delay your period, possibly until you come to terms with the reality that you are not pregnant. It is possible to have symptoms and be late on your period and still get a negative HPT, but you shouldn't assume this is true of yourself. Instead just stay safe and healthy in any case, and keep busy so that you don't think about it constantly. And if you're not pregnant, your period will come once you stop worrying and believing you are. If you still don't get your period, test again after a week, A WEEK, or you will most likely just be wasting your time, energy, and money and stressing yourself out even more.. Then your results should be much more accurate, and help you to move on in whichever way you must. Hope I helped anyone worrying and stressing over this .. Now go find something productive to do that keeps you busy and happy and stress free, and things will certainly fall into place! Good luck to everyone!

I also have a cyst on my left ovary. Apparently this little sucker comes and goes as it pleases. Probably ever 3-4 periods, I am irregular and will have some pain. It makes keeping track very difficult. They gave the option of birth control to control the cyst and my cycle, however, the birth control they gave me made me bleed nonstop for 20+ days. Yeah, I'd rather deal with occasional pain! That's ridiculous! The first time I believe the cyst ruptured, I had been almost 2 months late with my period. I showed all the signs of being pregnant. I did not have insurance at the time, and when everything finally came out, I went to the hospital b/c I wasn't sure what was happening. The nurse told me I was miscarrying. Needless to say, this was very traumatic. That was 5 years ago, and since then I had been regular. However, last September, after being on schedule every 31 days right down to the very time of day, my period stopped, I got very tired, crampy, bloaty, cranky, moody... I went to the doctor, luckily I had insurance this time, they did blood tests and an ultrasound. Turns out I have a cyst that she thinks comes and goes, and maybe has done this for many years. About a week after the ultrasound, the cyst burst.  I panicked because it was the same disgustingness as when the first time the hospital nurse told me I was miscarrying. My doctor said not to panic, that probably the first time it was also a burst cyst, but obviously there's no way to be certain now. How horrible to have gone through that 5 years ago, and to have carried it with me, only to now find out that it may have only been a cyst. I was very, very angry. In any case, this time around I am nearly 2 weeks late already. I've been mildly crampy the entire time, and sleepy in the middle of the afternoon. I am lactose intollerant and rarely even want to be near milky anything, but lately I have craved everything from milk to yogurt to icecream to whipcream! It's nuts. I also cannot seem to eat enough bananas. Maybe that's just my body telling me I'm lacking in certain nutrients, I don't know. Every day, though, I feel like I'm about to get my period, and then nothing. It is very thought-consuming. I imagine that my period will show up late and it will just be a side effect, once again, of the cyst, however, this time I am not nearly as crampy as usual. I hate to waste my money on a pee-test, but I also hate being late. Anyone have any further suggestions?

I thought I was the only one going through this...I feel sorry for all of you who are experiencing the same thing as me, 'cause this is "misery" not knowing. I myself hadn't had a period since Dec. I always have a regular cycle anywhere from 23-28 days, excluding one time....it was 32 days. My last period started on Dec 22nd and ended on the 27th, and hadn't had one since. I took an HTP(E.P.T) and it came out negative...of course I did the test at night, so I think that may have played a role on a negative response. I am also scared to take another test, because I'm scared I wont be pregnant, but at the same time, not knowing if I am or not is driving me crazy! My bf and I had sex on Jan.7th and Jan. 28th, and he as well, uses the pull out method...on Jan 7th. he got it all over me, so I was assuming that IF I did get pregnant, it would have been on that day. But the HTP I took was on Feb 3rd and negative...wouldn't it have shown postive since it had been almost a month??? I have had lower abdominal pain and just yesterday, my breasts started to get tender, I have a weird taste in my mouth and no matter what I eat or drink it wont go away. I know a blood test is more accurate, but so expensive...should I wait and see if I start my period this month? Or buy another HTP? The only thing about waiting is,....it's torture!   P.S> I read the symptoms of pregnancy at www.babyzone.com, and one of the symptoms was from "Chadwick," saying one sign of pregnancy is having "Venous Congestion," meaning your vaginal tissues are bluish in color. Well,I checked myself and it looks bluish like. Does anyone believe in this "old" sign???

I have a lot of pain on left ovary, due to a cyst. I know this sounds weird, but I read that twice as many women with ovarian cysts have them on the left side as opposed to the right. No reason was given, just an odd phenomenon. My period has ranged anywhere from 27 days to 38 in the past year, after years of 30-day cycles. I can't say if that's related to the cyst or not, though. I hope everything works out for you.
