lump on jaw

I have a lump on my jaw since Jan 06.  The dentist couldn't help or the oral surgeon.  After 9 different antibiotics I went to an ENT. I had a CAT Scan that showed nothing but my jaw was swollen and my neck and very painful. The ENT performed surgery on June 20, 06.  It is now August, the lump is still there and my lips on the left side where the lump is, don't work. I can't pucker or talk or eat or spit or drink right since. The ENT dismissed me telling me to gently massage the area. Lump and pain still there and no movement in the lips. Today ,I went again to my PCP, who is sending me to an oral surgeon.  Help!! I want my lips to work and this lump gone. By the way the ENT said it was an abcessed cyst that was entangled and went into my neck. He cut inside my mouth to remove this but it is still there.  Massage and ice and heat are not working and I am getting very depressed over the whole thing.  I am also diabetic, all the antibiotics caused a whole new set of problems for me.  Help!  Please!  I don't know what else to do! Thanks for any info

thank you so much for your reply!  Thank you for your prayers, I am so touched and sincerely appreciate your thoughtfulness. I did see the oral surgeon and he won't touch me until he gets all the reports from the ENT who operated and I have an MRI. He told me to get a lawyer but that's not what I want. I just want to be fixed for lack of a better word, but that's how I feel. My family has been kind, saying it's not that noticable but that's not the case.  My lips are crooked and words are funny, people on the phone can't understand me etc..  My mom told me to pray and have faith.  I'm trying!!  Thanks again for listening.  Sometimes it helps just getting it out there!

I'm very sorry you're going through this. I would say you're going to have to wait until you get to the oral surgeon. If it's an abcess he should be able to do a little more with this. And trust me early this pregnancy I had an abcess and WOW it hurt! So I know the feeling there and can't even begin to imagine if it was entangled in my neck and causing the poblems you have. I don't have any real advice just thought I would let you know you're in my thoughts and prayers and hopes this heals veryvery soon! God Bless :)
