By the way, I was also referred to an Orthopod who told me that the pain coming from my leg and groin was due to arthritis as the disc joint space was beginning to wear away, but not enough to do anything about. He recommended physio (been there done that, didn't work). I don't think he understood how much pain I was in and that most of it was pre-menstrual. My GP and other Docs don't think that it was arthritis and the Gynaecologist says it's musculoskeletal. He didn't even check to see if the fibroids (or smaller ones) were fibroids as often they are misdiagnosed and happen to be adenomyosis which is a thickening of the myometrium inside the uterus. I don't think it is musculoskeletal as previous to this, I never experienced any pain like this, just the pre-menstual symptoms from the coil.
Another amazing thing is that if I push my fingers into abdomen just above my pubic bone and push upwards to try and lift up my enlarged uterus then try to walk about, the pain disappears from everywhere! This makes me believe that it is my uterus pushing on something that the Gynae can't see, and points to adenomyosis perhaps warranting the removal of my uterus.
Good luck everyone and keep pushing for an answer. We know our bodies and know when something isn't right. Will post again after my appt!!

Omg. I have looked on a lot of forums and there are a lot of women going through the same pain and have the same symptoms as yourselves, including me. Mine is similar to you all. After having the mirena coil out as it gave me a lot of hormonal symptoms, I experienced almost straight away pain in my right groin which went down my leg, abdo and side. I've been admitted several times also and have had a LOT of scans and tests including laparoscopy. All negative except for enlarged uterus and fiboids. I also have a septate uterus but they still fitted the coil (at the time I didn't know it shouldn't have been fitted). That was 16 months ago and I have now been referred to Nottingham to another Gynae as my Gynae says it's not gynae. Eveything you all say about the pain is the same except I don't get headaches. I have been told by another Doc that this could be adenomyosis (google it) and I think he might be right. He suggests an MRI of pelvis to diagnose and a hysterectomy (just uterus) which will help. So role on my next appt and good luck to you all.
Check with your gynae if it could possibly be adenomyosis and ask for an MRI as there are thousands of women out there suffering like us and a lot who are now pain free.
Hope this helps.

I have had similar problems...mystery pain on left said that had me at the ER twice in one weekend. Had a catscan to see if possible for Darvaticulitis...but was negative. CT did show a septate uterus. each time after left side pain, i began menstrating within a few days of pain. Have been getting headaches frequently since this started. I also have had increased bleeding and cramping. I have had 2 children ..high risk pregnancies, both after ectopic which resutled in loss of right tube.
Please let me know what if any info that you have received, please.
I have suffered from focal migraines during ovulation for years, although they have been less frequent of late, I had to go to hospital in May due to dehydration and vommiting. I had a laparoscopy and hysteroscopy yesterday and was due to have mirena IUS fitted but my consultant said this was not possible due to a septate uterus. My symptoms for the last two years have been very heavy periods, clotting, severe period pain, and shooting pains around the left ovary throughout the month. I also suffer from pain during intercourse. Your symptoms sound very similar to mine. I am due to see my consultant again in six weeks, but I to feel I am running out of options as I react to oestrogen treatments
