I have a blister-like sore on my outer labia. It was like this like 3 days ago and i stumbled on myself and popped it. It bled a lot. Now that it has been a couple of days it is still bleeding when I irritate it. I had my husband look at it and he says it looks like a bump with a small sore in the middle.
It is definitely not an ingrown hair or a cyst, I've had those before. There is no puss on this bump/blister.
It is towards the back of my labia almost where the outer labia ends.
hi jane
sorry to hear your outcome.....i wish you well
i have something similar but mine fills up with pus then it goes away then it comes back and refills with pus....does your lump do this?
thx and gl
Hi everyone,
Went to the GYN today who had a look and said it is not an ingrown hair unfortunately. I am booked in for a simple vulvectomy on Friday. Am quite shocked at the outcome but hey at least its not on my face !!. I am going to stop looking at the internet I think it makes me worry more. Initially he said he was going to remove only the lump and surrounding tissues but when I looked up simple vulvectomy It stated the whole vulval region. This was not explanined to me so I am going to clarify this tommorrow. I dont want him removing anything he dosnt have to. He may have made a mistake on the item number on the bill (I am in australia) this is how we do it here. But non the less another worrisome night.
ok, post back and let us know what it is ok? glad you got an appt. so soon!
WOW! Talk about useful information!
are you sure its not something as simple as a bartholins (sp?) cyst? why would your dr. say that its cancer so freely? the only reason i can think of is that he/she feels its completely opposite of that and was making light of the situation?? if he/she felt it was indeed cancer of some sort they would have had further tests done and had you come back, called you...whatever. please check out online, "bartholins cyst" and see if that sounds more like it. i have had a couple of these myself and while they are NO fun, they do go away with a hot cloth/compress. its like a pimple. post back and let me know if you feel it resembles what you have because i can give you more info about it since i have experienced it a few times.
Hi,
Thanks for that, I have looked it up and it dosnt sound like what I have got especially as it has been there for so long, it is not painful either. The specialist called me and they had a cancellation so I am going tommorrow. Hopefully all is well, cancer would be so rare so I am sure it is nothing to worry about, I was hoping that someone else on this forum had something like what I had described and for that duration. I will let you know.
Thanks
Cancer on the labia would also be considered as Vulvar cancer. It can occur on any part of the external organs, but mostly effects the inner edges of thelabia majora or labia minora. Cancer on the vulva is a rare disease which accounts for half of one percent of all cancer in women, and may form slowley over the years.
It is easy to see and appear as a raised red, white, or pigmented patch. A simple biopsy will be performed to determine the diagnosis.
It also causes itching, burning and soreness, which is called sclerosis; thinning of the skin. Feels like a yeast infection, but much worse.
Vulva cancer mostly occurs in women after menopause, but is by no means restricted to that age group. A large number of women will be younger, and/or have immune suppression like diabetes.
Stage 1: Lesions 2 cm or less in size confined to vulva or perineum.
Stage 2: All lesions confined to the vulva and/or perineum, more than 2 cm.
Stage 3: Tumor of any size that invades any of the following: lower urethra, vagina, anus, and/or unilaterial region lymph nod
Stage 4: The tumor has spread to the upper urethra, bladder or bowel, local bone spread or spread to both groin nodes and any distant spread
Treatment will probably need surgery. The cancer needs to be removed with at least a 1cm margin to make sure all cancer is removed.
I hope that helps hun. Good luck, and God bless.
Thanks Jenni,
I am a bit more clued up now, hopefully all will be well when I go for my test, Thanks again. Jane
