That cyst on the right but pain on left sounds exactly like me.  I feel I'm going nuts, never mind my cervix is tilted to the left.  I've been having problems such as severe pain at times, presusre, bloating and frequent urinating since July. I get back pain and pain down left leg now. I couldn't understand what was going on because the pain was always on my left side, never on right.  I thought I was nuts.  I have a dermoid cyst.  The size is negotiable - gyn says 2x2cm while ER CT says 4x4cm.  Dr says she'll remove it for it seems it is causing me many problems so.  God bless... Hope you are better now.

Hi, I didn't have a dermoid cyst.  Mine was diagnosed endometriosis.  But, I did have it and my ovary removed in Nov.  Like you, I went in for a VUS and waited through another cycle only to go back and find it had grown.  I had laparoscopic surgery and recovery was not as bad as if I would have had a laparotomy.  Mine was outpatient.  I feel pretty back to normal now but am having some hormonal issues.  I have to say that my pain did go away.  The cyst was pushing my uterus over to the left and causing bad LEFT-sided pain, never on the right where the cyst was.  Go figure.

Have you been to the ovarian cancer site?  It is definitely not for ovarian cancer only.  I found it while waiting for my surgery and the women there are VERY supportive and informative.  Some have cancer some do not.  If you ask about recovery several women will respond and you can take a little information from them all.  In the end, yours will be different but similar.

You will know more after your next GYN visit.  Hopefully your Dr will order the CA-125 test.  I don't know your age but just know the test is just a reference.  In perimenopausal women it can be false positive, false negative, etc.  But, it gives an idea about where you are.  I am 47 and my score was 11.  The particular test I was given had a safe range until a score of 35.

Good luck to you!
