pain in lower abdomen

For the last 3 months or more I have had the strangest periods. They move all arround the month and are getting worse pain wise and if the pain isnt enough i get sick to my stomach and puke casue I hurt so badly. The pain has made it where using tampons is almost out of the question, when its time to change it, i almost pass out. Then during the month I am having more pain right where your ovaries not one side is more frequent then the other its all the time. If one side is dull pain the other is hurting worse.  A few times a month I have a sharp stabbing pain that goes right through me feels like it starts at the cervix and keeps going, and i cant hardly breathe. I feel more tired and worn down then usual too. I am 27 in fairly good health, growing up my period started then was gone for a year then back, its never been regular. We do have a history of historectomy's (spelling ? what do I do? Is this normal for aging? I do not have health insurance so this why I am here, I am desperate for an answer on should I go in and if so what maybe the problem
Any ideas or comments are great! thank you Pennysmomma

You are very smart to get as much info as you can to help your Dr find out what the problem is. Don't let him blow you off, if he does then find another Dr. untill you find one that will listen.
I don't know what is wrong with you but I have my doubts that you can fix this problem on your own. and you are right, stress can definatly mess with you and make things worse.
Ok, here is what I have been going through. I would have periods that would come every few weeks or I might even skip a month. I would never know when it was coming. Then after I had my 3rd baby they became more regular, but the cramps would be unbearable. I didn't want to move. I would just lay in bed and hunch over becaues the pain was so bad. And my periods would be VERY heavy.I would soak a pad in an hour or less for a full week.and would get huge blood clots, some the size of my fist and it would hurt to pass them. That would happen every month. Then my AF would last betweem 14-18 days long. The first week I would bleed heavy then the second week it would slowly taper off. I would also bleed lightly on and off through the month. (breakthrough bleeding) The Dr. put me on birth control pills (BCP) and they would just make me sick like when I was pregnant. We tried the depo shot but that just made me bleed hard for 3 months and I would feel sick. We tried both kinds of IUD, but they made my periods even worse so we took them out.I had an ultrasound done and the lining of my uterus was WAY to thick. about the time they were giong to do a D&C on me I ended up pregnant.I ended up m/c that baby (about a week 1/2 ago). so I got the D&C to get out everything and a few days later I went back because the pain was so horrible. The lining of my uterus had grown back WAY more than normal. right now I'm in horrible pain to where I have to be on pain meds. On my left side right over my overy is a very sharp pain, i have cramps along my lower belly, (feels more like contractions than reg. AF cramps)and I ache BAD in my groin/vaginal area, thighs and lower back and sometimes through the day I have this horrible sharp feeling like a knife is going up me through vagina and twisting into my uterus. It's very sharp. that comes and goes, but is happening more and more. sometimes it will wake me up at night and I can't move. A few times I have gotten sick because the pain has been SO bad. Right now I can't function caues it's so bad. We have tried everything over the years to make this go away. I have had this for years, but has gotten worse over this past year sinse I had my last baby. They think that because I had a c-section it may have made it worse. and then after my D&C (last week) the pain is ALL day and I feel like I am in labor. I can't sleep and walking or even moving just makes it worse. My Dr. has decided that a hysterectomy is the only option that I have now. I'm only 28 and it makes me sad, but I can't live like this anymore. Dr. said that I have endometrosis in the uterus. Please go see your Dr.ASAP there are programs that can help you with med.bills. Your heath and fertility is too important for you not to go get it checked out. Please keep me updated with how you are doing. I have been worried about you and am so sorry you are going through such a hard time. Please tell me if there is anything else I can help you with. I know how hard and depressing it is to deal with pain, especialy when you don't know what it is. I'm glad that you have such a supportive husband. Keep me updated.

I didn't have your exact symptoms, but I had irregular bleeding, very bad pain near my right ovary, and also shooting pains. All I can say is that worry made everything worse. You would be surprised at how much stress contributes to our overall well-being. Call around until you find a caring doctor. If the pain is bad enough you may need to just go to the emergency room and be seen there. There are some programs available to people without health insurance, which area are you in? BTW, BCP is birth control pills.

You really need to see a doctor. I know what it's like to not have health insurance, I currently don't have any, but there's nothing more important than your health. I have over $10,000 in medical bills from this year alone, but you sound like you really need medical help and no one on the internet will be able to diagnose you. I recently had some of the same symptoms that you describe and was diagnosed with a polyp in my uterine lining, but looking at my symptoms on the internet was very disconcerting. You are probably torturing yourself with worry and that may be making your health even worse. Please take care of yourself.

I was wondering what BCP was? I have looked at almost every site I can think of for help on how to self medicate or self help and just seems that nothing helps. You mentioned that you were going through the same thing what was it? what have you tiried or not tried? (Nala)
What I mentioned was just a part of my symptoms. I think that the stress and pain of each day is makeing the rest of my body weak. I feel rotten today. This entire thing seems to be hurting my family too. Thank fully i have a great Hubby that doesnt get mad or pressure me right now.
Thank you all for your replies. I hope to get more. I want to make sure that when I go to the DR I am armed with the right information so that he doesnt blow me off because I dont have health ins, some DRs do that and I cant afford that.I want some one to listen and get this thing taken care of. Dont think my family or I can deal with much more

I'm sorry you are going through this. It seems somewhat like what I have been going through for years. I know you don't have insurance, but you need to get to your Dr. or gyn. It could be fixed with BCP. depending on what it is. I am in cronic pain that doesn't let up and am on pain meds 24/7. I also have this feeling like a sharp knife is stabbing me up my vagina going all the way to my insides. I too sometimes get sick when the pain gets that bad. The knife pain isn't always there, but it's getting more and more frequent.(the other pain is always there though)
I will be seeing a surgeon in a few weeks to talk about and schedual a hysterectomy. You need to see your Dr. to make sure nothing serious is going on. Feel free to ask me anything if you need. When I was first going through this I didn't have anybody to talk to and was scared. Also, you will get a lot of good advice and support from the women on this site! Keep us updated with how you are doing!
