pains in the stomach

hey everybody! i was just wondering if anybody has experienced the same thing i have....for the last 2 days i have had a pain in my stomach. it is a shooting pain like someone is stabbing me with a knife. i should mention that my period is 5 days late...could this have anything to do with it?!? my neighbor thinks it is my appendix and i might have appendicitis (sp?) but my sister thinks i could be pregnant...i have a doctors appointment on the  26th but i dont know if i can wait that long....anybody that can help...it would be appreciated...thank you in advance!

Take a hpt right away.  It could be an ectopic pg and immediate medical attention would be required.

Oh and I forgot to say:  If you are indeed pg and still having these pains then I guarantee they will see you a lot sooner than the 26th.  If they won't, then find a new doc immediately.

If you start running a fever or the pain gets worse or doesn't start getting better, don't wait till your appointment.  Either go to another doc or to the ER.  Take it seriously even though it could be nothing.

thanks for your comments...i just took a HPT and i got a negative so i know that i'm not pregnant. :( so now i have know idea what it is...my mom said it can't be my appendix cause the pain is on my left side, not my right side....she said it might have something to do with my ovaries...i dont know...i might go to the ER tonight cause the pain just keeps getting worse....wish me luck!
