period after miscarriage/D&C???

Hi there,
I just had a miscarriage last month and had a D&C. That was three weeks ago. I was wondering when I should be expecting my period? I always had very regular cycles before so I'm hoping they will return to normal soon. The last few days I have had some very mild cramping and even more mild spotting. I'm not even sure I can even call it spotting because it has been one teeny tiny spot a day. I don't think it's my period, but more of the light bleeding after the D&C. I'm a little confused at this point. Any ideas??

hi i had a d&c on 25th may i was told i could try again stright away that there was nothing stopping me so im on my 4th week since having it done and still no period im hoping im pregnant again as i cant get over having two misscariges.

well, i had my d&c may 3rd. ive been having unprotected sex since 1 week after my procedure. i am trying to have a child, just to explain myself...
but this last past week ive been having some slight spotting, its pretty dark. & also some mild cramping. im just a little concerned because your suppose to start your period 3 to 4 weeks after your "d&c" but im 6weeks strong without seeing any major flowing. help plz.

Hi! My name is angelia and I just had a miscarriage at 6 weeks at first my doctor told me I was 10 weeks and the night I went to er they told me I had to be 3 weeks and I knew something was wrong so they had me getting blood work done back to back and my hcg level kept dropping and they told me to go see my ob doctor and I was told I was miscarrage I need answer how soon can I try again I mean I bleed for only 3 days and me and my husband been having unprotected sex and I don't want to cause problems later but this is our second one with no kids at all and we not getting any younger please help us.

Anybody who had been experienced having sex after 2 wks of D&C?  I'm worried coz my doctor advise me not to hve sex until 6wks of D/C..Is their any possible problem comes after that?

I had a D&C done on January 9th due to a miscarriage.  I was approximately 12 weeks.  It is now March 24 and still no period.  I have cramping and discomfort but not bleeding.  However, following the procedure I did bleed for 5 weeks.  I am wondering if this is the cause.

Hi I had a D&C 8/04/07 due to slow progession of bhcg numbers, was 6wks3dys. As of 8/28/07 still no sign of a period. I have always been regular. Just wondering if the counting for a normal period should start after the bleeding has stopped. If that'a the case then maybe I have another week or so before it starts. Good luck to all!

hi i had a d/c on 08/15/07 due to m/c ,was 15 weeks pregnant with twins both babies died at 6 weeks ,problem is the doctor told me not to have intercourse tillpast post op on 08/30/07 but lust with my husband got in the way and we did have intercourse 08/24/07 i have only had very minor spotting from the d/c here and there ,they said not to attempt to concieve before 3 months now im worried ive done myself damage i have no idea if its even possible to concieve now and if it is then what are the chances with no period ,and if i do concieve how will i know when i dont even know when my cycle is meant to be ,,i realize ive been very irresponsible but having a lecture on what they told me not to do wont help as its already done ! help

Well I just started my period today which would make it exactly 26 days after having a miscarriage. I didn't have any cramping at all....just a nasty headache. I'm so glad I got it! At least I know my cycle is returning to normal.

I am 28 and I had a D&C done two weeks after I delivered my second child.  Hannah was 10 and I delivered her vaginally.  Two weeks later I find myself getting a D&C done.  They said I could go home two to three hours afterwards but I was there for 5 days.  I had to have a blood transfusion, they said, there was a piece of the placenta left behind from the surgeon but when my regular doctor called he said it was maternal.  Basically, I could not handle delivering my child and so that is why i had this procedure. Also, after I delivered her the docter never even checked the afterbirth he just threw it away......  so, now it is seven months later and I have had no period (I have not breastfed since two weeks after she was born because my milk dried up) abdominal pain, frequent urination, and now for the last month I also get pain in my back between my shoulder blades, in my right lower arm and hand, cramps as if i have to go to the bathroom but nothing happens, pain inbetween my breast bone. I have gone to a second doctor and have gotten a ultrasound and bloodwork and everything has come back fine and now and i just left to wonder.  o, also I took many pregnancy tests and all were negative and i even have taken a pill to jump start your period twice and no luck so if anyone knows anything or has any advice please write back.... thank you..

Well i got it yesterday...and its been very light.  \not heavy at all as other described.  Cramping was a little more then usual on the first day but nothing too over bearing.  It came exactly 28 days after MC just so you have a rough estimate.  Now i have a rough idea and can start trying again!  I hope everything is working out ok for you all!

I wasn't very far along either and like you I didn't have a D&C. I'm waiting for my period to come too. I was told that if I count from the last day I bled from the miscarriage however many days are in my cycle that I should get it then. I'm expecting it to be a little messed up when I finally do get it. Looks like alot of us are in the same boat here. Maybe there's a difference between those of us who had m/c's and didn't require a D&C and those who didn't as far as how long it will take to menstrate normally again. It seems like a waiting game. I know alot of us want to try again and it seems like it makes the waiting longer. If I get it I'll be back to let you know and how long it took. Best of luck to all of you who posted.

hi  i had a misscariage at 4 and a half weeks, about four weeks ago...no d/c needed...but now im not sure when to expect my period.  Lately ive been feeling a bit nautious and my boobs are tender so i feel like a big pile of confusion.  Im just not sure when it will come and its a sad waiting game. aproximately when did you guys get your peiod after misscarriage.  My misscarriage happened soo early in compared to alot of your stories so im not sure.  please any sugestions

Hi! I had a miscarriage and D&C 9 weeks ago and I am still waiting for my periods. I have had blood tests taken and my body is not doing anything. I am told this is normal but again I was told it should take 4 to 6 weeks until I get my period. My ob is away and gets back the day I am leaving to go overseas for 4 weeks. I wanted someone to do something to help me get back to normal before going overseas but they have just told me to wait until I get back. I am so frustrated and not sure if I sure go to my GP and see if they can do anything? I am trying not to worry or focus on it because I know stress effects my body but I am so miserable and feel anxious that time is slipping away. Any thoughts??? Don't know what else to do and am tired of waiting.

I am not sure whether this is a right way to ask question but incase someone suggest me with my problem, will really appreciate.  I also had MC around 6 weeks ago and  I started getting spots 2 weeks back from today (thought that was starting of my period) but that was stopped after 3 days from beginning .. Now from last 5 days, I am continues having bleeding (like the first day) and felling very sick and not sure when this will stop :(..

I had a MC and D&C 3 weeks ago. I stopped bleeding from my D&C within 3 days. But, I have not had a period yet. I am a little worried because my husband and I have had unprotected sex 2 weeks after the D&C and a couple of times since then. I was told by my doctor my period might not happen for up to 6 weeks. But, if you are still kind of spotting I would see if you should have a pelvic exam and contact your GYN/OB. I am in the same boat so I hope everything returns to normal and you are fine.
