positive

after a missed period,I went for  blood test and it was confirmed I am pregnant. hours later my period started. could it be a false positive?pls what could have gone wrong?

False positives are very rare.  VERY.  It requires the hormone of pregnancy to get a positive which you don't have unless you are pregnant.  Keep that in mind with inaccurate information above.  

So, you are pregnant!  Now, many women do have spotting or what seems to be a period when pregnant.  That is not uncommon.  However, if you begin cramping or anything like that, it could, I'm sorry to say, be a miscarriage.  That does happen.  We test so early now that we find out we are pregnant very early and then it is a chemical miscarriage. Before tests were so sensitive or readily available, most women never knew they were pregnant.  

Anyway, hopefully you just have that common bleeding that happens during pregnancy.  good luck

Some women still bleed while pregnant but its not common I would suggest going and getting checked out because blood test are rarely false. I hope everything works out for you.

yes it could be a false positive because...when you got your periods..surely there was some changings occur in your harmonal level...so that changes can be shown in the tests...you can take preg test after your periods....that result will be accurate ...and show correct harmonal level

Call your obgyn. If the bleeding is heavy or theres any pain go to an urget care center.
