i am 29 and had tubal ligation done in 2005.  my periods are very irregular.  i do know when they are coming.  i get back pain and cramps.  the cramps are very bad the first 2 days then they go away.  just before the last 2 days i have sex with my partner.  he ejaculates inside of me.  could i get pg, while i have the tubal ligation?  unsure of what they did for my tubal.  i am feeling sick all day urinating alot drinking alot, increased appetite, sore nipples and tender breasts.  is there any slight chance that i could be pg??  please help need to know right away.

i was in ob office last week and while waiting for my Dr to finally come in, I was reading a poster that said a tubal is something like 95% effective, but gets less effective if it has been over ten years or something like that. Keep us posted.

I cannot recall statistically what the chances are, but tubal's are not 100% affective which means there is always a chance. And the big thing is that pregnancies after tubal's tend to have a better chance of implanting in the tubes which must be treated medically and as soon as possible as it can cause the tube to rupture which in turn causes internal bleeding.
It's good that you are getting negative results on the home tests so far, however, you should call your Ob/Gyn and let them know that you suspect a pregnancy and have had a Tubal Ligation. They will most likely bring you in for a blood test. And make sure to go to the E.R. if you have any pain, severe cramping, abnormal heavy bleeding, etc.. Keep listening to your body, You know it best!
Good Luck and keep us posted.
