rawness around clitorous

Off and on for the past month Ive had redness/ soreness around the "hood" of my clitorous.  A little over a month ago I was diagnosed with a yeast infection.  after it cleared up the whole vaginal area became raw (pinkesh / red) and very sore.  I used vagisil to soothe it (make it bareable), but it did not help with the rawness.  I began taking epson salt baths and it cleared up majority of the rawness but the area around my clitorious has become irritated again and Ive notice a white build up inside/ on my clitorous.  Theres no rash or bump just a rawness in the area.  I have not had sex since christmas and this has been going on off and on since then.

Does anyone have an idea of what it could be?

doctors will/should never treat a yeast infection with an antibiotic.

what happens for me is that whenever i have to take antibiotics for a UTI/strep throat/something else viral, it kills off all the good bacteria in digestive tract and that often leads to a massively uncomfortable and depressing yeasty beasty(as my roommates and i like to call them)

for your first experience with a yeast infection you should definitely go in and have a doctor/nurse practitioner take a look at it to diagnose it correctly. if over the counter treatments like monistat 1/3/7-day are ineffective, the doctor can prescribe a more powerful anti-fungal (creams or oral pills) and these usually do the trick for me.
there are TONS of different things women do to manage yeast without meds, from garlic cloves to apple cider vinegar to plain yogurt, but i would recommend talking to your doctor first.

if you are eating/applying yogurt topically, always make sure to get the unsweetened, plain type with ACTIVE/LIVE cultures of lactobacillus as well as organic if possible(factory farm dairy cows are generally treated with antibiotics, so you won't want to be using that stuff to try to treat a yeast infection when antibiotics kill the good flora you're trying to encourage!)
definitely avoid alcohol (fermented drinks encourage the bad stuff to grow in your digestive tract) and caffeine as well as sugars as much as possible, this includes cranberry juice which has sugar in it... cranberry is what you should drink for Urinary Tract Infections, not Yeast infections. all sugars, natural OR processed, will encourage the yeast growth you don't want.

i know, that's most of the fun stuff, i'm not saying it's easy.
yeast has been my ultimate nemesis at different points in my life and it can be incredibly frustrating, if you're into learning about this stuff if it's a real problem for you i recommend getting your hands on the most recent version of The Yeast Connection, it will help you out with adjusting your diet... but yes yes yes, go to a doctor if it's really bad or persistent, those antifungal pills can be LIFESAVERS

The problem with being treated for a yeast infection with antibiotics or creams is that they not only kill the yeast but the good bacteria responsible for killing the yeast.  It seems that once women get yeast infections, they reoccur frequently because your chemistry down there is off.  Go back to the doctor and have them do the normal cultures to check for yeast, bacteria, STDS, all that fun stuff we have to do.  My advice is cranberry juice, plain yogurt, and avoid caffeine, alcohol, and white carbs. the white build-up suggests yeast. I hope this helps.
