Hello,
Your husband may be having erectile dysfunction and his age can be one of the causes. It is not a natural consequence of aging. It is due to psychological reasons, relationship problems or drugs, rather than any other physical causes. He should rule out these causes first and then rule out other medical causes of erectile dysfunction.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

I don't think this is a problem limited to African Americans, any guy past 50 of can have erectile issues.  How is his weight?  His blood pressure?  His general health?  Does he exercise?  Does he still get erections when he sleeps?  Is he on any medications?  Has he ever gotten his hormone levels tested?
