Hi toOblazin.  Well, our periods can naturally and normally fluctuate in regards to its length of time, amount of flow and color - heavy or spotting, etc.  Alot of the time, it is determined by hormones, what we eat, vitamins, exercise, stress and/or the overall condition of our body at that time, mentally and physically, etc. (so I've been told by my gynocologist) and that it doesn't nessasarily or always point to having a serious problem.

It is always a good idea, if a person is uncertain or worried, to make an appointment with your doctor to get a check up to bring to their attention your concerns.  In that way, if there is a problem it can be treated right away and you can get back on the road to recovery.  If there is no serious problem you can regain a sense of peace.

Blessings and Pleasant thoughts to you.
