swollen labia majora:

I am a post-menapausal women ( surgically enduced from hysterectomy age 26)  now age 56. I still take a low dose estradiol 0.5 mg. The past few days noticed  sweelling in my labia majoria.  The swelling has been increasing. It isn't acutely painful but my groin area does feel pressure, like a  fulness sensation.    The swelling raidates out from  rmy pubic  symphasis.  Feeling concerned.  What is the cause, should I be concerned?

Thanks for your response. I am new to the web site.  Regarding Bartholin's gland,I don't think that is it as I have nothing to note on my vaginal wall. There is no thickness or hardness in my labia majora. just diffuse swellling, in my labia majora. The  pressure, discomfort does raidate through my groin area. It increased over night - and of course happens on a weekend.

It sounds like it might be an infection of the Bartholin's gland. Look it up online and see if that fits your symptoms. You'll find treatment options there too. Good luck.
