swollen labia majora

I was playing frisbee one day and got hit really hard in the lower abdomen. The next day i experienced severe cramps and it wasn't my time of the month. A few days later, I would discharge a thick white substance and my labia was swollen and red. Even walking would irritate me, so I seeked medical help and found that I had a yeast infection.  After recovering from my yeast infection, both my labia majora didnt seem to go back to normal. Its been swollen since day one. I'm not sexually active and tried to stay away from it since this has occured. I dont use any creams or lotions to treate it. It doesnt irritate me anymore, however it's starting to concern me why its taking so long to go back to normal. Its been atleast a month, so I don't know what is wrong. Is there something else wrong inside me and will my labia majora ever go back to normal?

Had a GF with similar problem and here is some of the things we found out. Drying underwear with other clothes especially socks is a bad thing, ( hang underwear to air dry in the sun or at least under a florescent light the UV rays help kill alot of unwanted things. For some women peanut butter can increase yeast infections, try to get benificial bacterium such as found in yogurt. And if you are into oral sex make sure your partner is not coming down with a cold you may end up with the cold as well plus it can weaken your immune system to the point of other problems becoming big problems. Cranberry tea or juice helps flush the urinary track, ( I know it is an aquired taste) and after sex drink lots of water so as to keep that urinary track clear to avoid a bladder infection. A lack of lubrication paired with an impatient partner can be  an uncomfortable situation for you and if your partner is not clean that is a broblem just waiting to happen. A shower is cheap for him plus it can give you time. Some soaps like a body wash are thick and do not rince off all that easy, a guy may not notice but him not being studious on this point can cause you grief down there. Food for thought, hope it helps someone, there is alot of info out there, I only touched on the tip of it I am sure.

This actually happened to me to. My doctor said its very common and its nothing to worry about. When it happened to me they said to take some childrens bendryl and it hould take care of it. Its is just some kind of allergic reaction. But a side note about the Monistat 1... Ive been told NEVER NEVER to use it because when your body becomes used to a medicine that strong the other ones wont work and will make it hrder to get rid of. If it stays that way i would go to the doctor and see what they say because it coud be something else, like another type of infection. Goodluck!!!

Hello everyone...

I have been on amoxicellin for almost a wk. Well just about 3 days ago i started feeling very comforable down there. Come to find out its a yeast infection. I thought great. I have had them before but not like this. I bought some monastat 1 and decieded to use it last night. Well this morning when I woke up and got ready for work ( taking a shower and getting dressed) i thought wait aminute there is something wrong. Everything on down there was red, swollen and sore. This has never happend so I don't know whats going on. I called the nurses line and they said that you can get a reaction to certain over the counter medication. This just has never happend to me before. It only hurts now when i wipe after going to the restroom. Does anyone know what this could be? Do you think the medication could be actually helping me or making it worse?

I am sorry, but I don't know.  I just wanted to let you know that I read your post.

Sounds like you need to go back to the doctor though.  Abnormal swelling should be addressed.
