swollen lump on bikini line

can someone please help me out...I have this boil/pimple like thing on my bikini line but it feels like there is a pebble under my skin or something - seriously weird. And it's getting larger and redder each day and it the size of two regular size pimples put together... I've had something like this before but it usually rises and is gone by a few days - and it definitely didn't feel like there was a rock under my skin. Someone told me i had got something similar in the past because i'm a sporty person and exercise a lot in the gym - the area get sweaty and my underwear may have rubbed which is what those pimples were...a reaction to that. I have recently had laser (brazilian) and have been shaving the area ever since...at first i thought it had something to do with that, maybe an ingrown, but no. I'm now starting to think it's a major problem and have no idea what i should be doing! someone please help! i'm starting to get a little worried and swaying towards the extremes like cancer or someone..:S

It sounds like it could be a ingrown hair or swollen lymph nodes. I have had them there my whole life.

Hello,

It's quite common for ingrown hairs to develop, particularly following waxing or shaving.  I've actually recently read that the trend towards Brazilian waxing has made the problem more common.  I used to think that you wouldn't get as many, but that's not the case.  Now if it's not your usual ingrown hair as you indicate - it could be sebaceous cyst which are caused by blocked oil glands in the skin.  Usually it's a small hard lump that's painless and usually require no treatment unless causing discomfort.  That's what came to mind when I read your post.  You could always get it checked out, or have it removed if it continues to bother you - if in fact it is a cyst.  Good luck to you :)
