had a mamogram today had a problem with red splotch by nipple and heat, it is gone now but tech acted so different when she came in 2nd time - did she see something when 'I asked her if everything is alright she said need to get you other mamogram to see what is normal for you what does that mean?
I am worried about you. Find someone who knows about Inflammatory Breast Cancer. It's not the same as what you typically think of when you hear breast cancer, but it can be harder to get rid of.
My best to you all.
I also mentioned to my doctor a few months ago that I had swollen, itchy armpits and breasts and he basically said I should investigate stress relieving techniques. Needless to say, I do not ever want to see him again. I'm tired of being treated like an ignorant person. I still don't feel well and have a hard time getting comfortable to sleep at night. There is no one who wants to help me. I guess we have to look after ourselves the best we can.
I am having pain, burning and itching in my right breast and underarm. It is swollen under my arm around the nodes and at times my breast feels swollen. I have had a mammagram and it was normal. They told me to take ibupofren for 3 days faithfully I did with no help. I called my gyno and she prescribed me Keflex for 10 days incase it was an infection. No improvement. I went for a breast MRI and it showed nothing. I still have the pain and swelling. Sometimes my breast feels "engorged". Sometimes it feels like I am breastfeeding and had "let down". I have not breastfeed in 7 years. The breast center is not telling me anything that I can do. I have also noticed a rash between my breast that has been there over a year now and I have showed this to my breast specialist and they are not concerned with that. I also get a burning rash in my underarm that looks and feels like razor burn but I have not got it anywhere else. Please let me know how the other outcomes are and if anyone has any suggestions for me please let me know.
I am experiencing the same problems as you..so much pain it's unbearable at times. My lump is a very weird shape and pointy and located under the armpit at the side of the breast. I had a mammo. and Ultrasound 2 weeks ago and have yet to hear anything. The Gyno says he thinks it's just fibrocystic pain and that I only have about 5 more years to put up with it (his way of saying that menopause should deal with it). My mother has breast cancer, so of course I am terrified that this is that too. I've read conflicting reports that say breast cancer is not painful and others say that it can be...Hoping to hear soon. Did you get the MRI? what were your results?
Hello,
I have the same problem, 3 lumps...2 in my right breast and one in my left that is killing me...my left side hurts so much,I have a breast, arm, backpain and neckpain. My doctor told me not to worry about it, but I did not listen to him and call him back just to tell him that I want a biopsy for my 3 lumps.
I have an appoinment this friday,... Hopes everything is good!
This was obviously posted a long time ago, but I could not believe how similar your experience has been to mine.
I have mentioned this pain to a few doctors, all of whom have said it was probably nothing to worry about, so I thought I was going crazy and should just put up with it. My last doctor sounded like it was nothing she had ever heard of, and I got the impression that it is just something I will have to manage.
Recently the pain under my arm and in my breast has been so severe I have not been able to sleep, Having read all the postings I now am determined to pursue this, and get the tests I need to put my mind at rest.
Thanks again

I am recently experiencing this problem...I would like to know the outcome of this individual since it has been a couple years back..I'm do for a biopsy next Wednesday for a mass at 3:00 to my left breast.
Hi Bud4,
I'm sorry your having so many problems. And along with the other ladies here, I can't stand condesending doctors. You might want to think about that second opinion like a couple of the ladies said.
I am a mammogram tech and have been for 14 years. If they want to do a biopsy it's because you have a solid mass. We don't do biopsies on cysts. We can drain the cyst and check the fluid to make sure it's ok. You said the doctor said it's not cancer? Does she have some sort of special vision that can tell that the lump is not cancerous?! She is telling you that because based on the mammogram and the ultrasound it 'appears' that the mass is not cancerous. But they cannot tell for sure until they do a biopsy!! So please do not let this go! MRI's of the breast are a good exam to have. Be sure the MRI machine has a breast coil for the exam. Ask the tech for a breast coil. Don't do it if their not using the breast coil! It won't be as accurate. Go to a facility that has the breast coil if you need to.
I think it's a good possibility that the pain and the mass are related in my lowly opinion. I am not a doctor. But it makes sense that they might be related.
Please do not let the mass go! Go to a different doctor if you don't like the one you have now. I've fired doctors about a million times. Find one that you like and get this taken care of. Good luck Bud4.

my aunt had pain the exact same way. Her dr. knew the pain was an indicator. She ended up having breast cancer in BOTH breasts and a radical double masectomy! Stick to your guns! Your health is first and foremost
Please get another opinion.BE AGRESSIVE ABOUT YOUR OWN HEALTH, NO ONE ELSE WILL FOR YOU... I had this problem and it was coming from my my actual armpit ( it was in the lymph nodes)... PLEASE go see someone else. The mass may not be cancer but they need to check your lymph nodes in the armpit area and rule that out as well. Do not wait, go see someone else. I have learned by going to may doctors, some will give you the run around and put you on meds just to say they did something for you and some really havent learned much in med school!! Try seeing a specialist.
Did they say from the results of the u/s and mammo if it was a solid mass? That can make a difference. I had a painful area near the midline and top of my left breast. My tests showed that it was a solid mass and not a cyst, so they decided to biopsy it. It was very uncomfortable even when I slept. When it was time for the needle biopsy, they had a hard time finding it. It was very thin, like a very thin capsule. They did the biopsy (after making me feel like I was crazy) and determined it was a fibroidadenoma, which are not usually painful. Those are pretty common in young women. I would go get the MRI done, and if not satisfied with what your current doctor is recommending, go get second opinion. You have had all the testing, you would just need to take your films with you.
Time for a second opinion. You might want to see a breast surgeon, who could evaluate your problem and recommend a neuro if needed. A breast surgeon probably has seen something like this before. Good luck...
People don't have severe pain for no reason. Don't let them make you feel like you are being a baby. Make them take you seriously and if they won't then move on. The yellow pages is full and you were looking for a doc when you found them. I have no patience for docs treating patience like they are idiots. You know your body and any doc worth his salt will tell you to listen to what your body is telling you. Sounds like you have a nerve problem. No telling where it is steming from, maybe a swollen lymph node, maybe a cervical disc in you neck, or a problem at the wrist level. Could be many things. Maybe you should see a Neurologist.
And what about the biopsy? Were they going to do it for kicks and giggles or is there something really going on that needs to be checked? Don't let that go too long without finding out what's going on. And maybe the two are connected somehow.
Good luck and let us know how you are doing..
