Has anyone ever tried a steroid BURST?

A doctor just put me on a 12 day steroid burst, tapering every 3 days.  Wondering if anyone else ever tried this and if you can share your findings with it.

Hi there! Since the steroid burst I have been healing with natural remedies; taking turmeric through my naturopath doctor, taking other supplements as well, also changed my diet and I'm following the PALEO diet. What I believe has helped me a lot as well is acupuncture (chinese healing treatment).  There are specific points/channels in acupuncture for treating breast abscesses!  Since doing these things, I have been pain free since June (4 months), I feel very normal now, my mass is shrinking, my wounds are healing and shrinking too.  I noticed that if I stop following my PALEO diet, and stop acupuncture, abscesses start coming back.

I'm 9 months into GM and I feel great about the path I'm on and I pray everyone is on their way to healing.

I was on steriods for 20 weeks, tapering every 2 weeks. It was long, exhausting. I did have some relief for a few months with no pain. My wounds did take longer to heal...but I was pain free. I would get abcess here and there. When I was finishing my dosage, more abcesses appeared...significantly smalled than the beginning abcesses. I changed my diet and finally fully recovered. I was "sick" for 14 months. The average case is 18 months.
