Need some help.. I am Vit D deficient

For the past 3 years, most of my symptoms are gradually coming.  Some of my symptoms are dizziness, brain fog, muscle, back & joint pain, cold hands & feet, frequent sinus infection, pain on my fingertips and sometimes loss of balance and feeling of anxiousness.  I had several lab tests, gastro endoscopy and colonoscopy and all results came normal except for H. Pylori bacteria they found on my intestine.  However, after more than a month of medication, the H. Pylori has been erradicated but the symptoms I mentioned above are still there which means H. Pylori has nothing to do with these symptoms.

When I found this forum, I requested my Internal Med to test my level of Vitamin B12, Folic Acid and Vitamin D. Below are the results which I got last Thursday:
    B12 - 835 pg/ml
    Folic acid - 1,239 nmol/l
    D - 24.8 ng/ml

My B12 and Folic acid came normal, only Vit D is low.  However, my Internal Med seems to be not knowledgeable about Vit d deficiency since he is saying that I just need to take medication if my Vit d is less than 10.  What specialist should I consult  which can help me to increase my level and to finally feel better.  Is endocrinologist the right person?

And while still looking for the right specialist, I am planning to start taking Vit d supplement.  Also, I read some posts saying about the importance of taking calcium and magnesium while taking Vit d3. What starting dosage should I take which is safe for my age and body built?  I am 32 years old and a 128-pound guy.

An endocrinologist is the right specialist especially since they will also run blood tests for thyroid and parathyroid function. My starting level was 20 and I feel much better when I get my levels in the 35-55 ranges. I'm not a doctor so I can't advice you as to dosing but, yes, you should take calcium and magnesium with your vitamin D3. I experimented with dosages and what worked for me was 4000 IUs D3 gel caps daily; others on this forum take higher daily doses 5000 IUs or more. It's all about seeing what you can tolerate and what dosage level gets you to where you want to be. Good luck and keep us posted!!!
