PVC's and Lightheadedness

HI! Not sure if I am in the right discussion group with all of my symptoms, but this is where I will start.
I am 37 yo female, history of smoking about 3/4 pack per day. Diagnosed two years ago with PVC's. The doctors put me on Toprol. Pretty much non eventful until about 6 months ago. Over the last few months I have been having strong PVC's with lightheadness. Scares me, I think Im going to pass out. During the feeling of lightheadedness I get a rushing sound or fullness in my ears, sort of like tinnitus but it dosent ring. I thought maybe I was pre-menopausal being that I have only had one mestrual period in the last 8 mons but all bloodwork on hormones showed normal levels. However my bloodwork did come back with a TSH level of 9.1. Doctor then diagnosed me with Hypothyroid and started me on 0.25mcg of Synthroid. PVC's during this time are still not under control and I am short of breath, sweaty, and hot. The Synthroid seems to make them worse of course. However the TSH levels would account for my tiredness lately. I have also gained 35lbs in the last 8 mos. My doctors cant seem to get the medication regulated for my thryroid to where my PVC's are under control. I have had a holter, bloodwork, an echo, and stress test. All normal. But something just dosent seem right. Like they are missing something somewhere.
In the course of the last two days I have had very bad pitting edema in my lower extremities and a feeling of weakness in my hands. Im starting to get scared now. I have a drs appt in 6 days but Im just starting to get nervous with the new symptoms. I am constantly walking around with a feeling of lightheadness and short of breath.
Any suggestions. Any reason to think they would be missing anything or should I just relax and take the time to get the medication adjusted. Its been 6 months.??
Thanks for any suggestions and input.

I'm sorry your going through this wendyz.

I know that there are times I feel lightheaded, short of breath sometimes and my ears feel like there building pressure too when I get really bad runs of those PVCs.

Wondering if maybe your medication/s could be contributing to the edema?  And the thyroid not being just right contributing to the weakness in your hands?

You commented that you'll be seeing the doctor in a few days.  Keep us posted.  I am an optimist, so I look forward to your doctor finding the problem, resolving it and you feeling well real soon.

Blessings and Pleasant thoughts for you to feel better soon.

My sister is a physician's assistant and she has many thyroid patients.  Awhile ago she told me that with all the different generic thyroid medications out there, it was nearly impossible for her to successfully manage TSH levels, because each patient might be on a different generic, and though the generics are supposed to be the same, the simple fact is, many aren't.

So she started writing on her prescriptions - "Dispense As Written", and she would specify the brand name thyroid med.  She said that all of a sudden managing TSH levels was a breeze.

So if your thyroid is causing your palps and you're on a generic version of a thyroid med, I'd call and ask your doctor to write a scrip for the brand name, and see if that doesn't help.

If I can be of any other help, you can email me at jeffsskippyheart[at]yahoo[dot]com.

Best of luck!  :)
