Groin Pain

My doctor said I had a pulled muscal in my groin area at the top of my left inner thigh (from doing jumping jacks).  The pain gets worse when I wear hills, walk, or sit for a long time.  I do soft stretches as my doctor told me, but it only gets better when I stay off of it.  I work and am trying to lose weight.  What can I do to ease the pain so I can work and exercise properly?

I posted my groin pain in the neurology forum because other posts with similar complaints received responses indicating the pain may be nuerological.  I wanted to check out that possibility
