PCS--venous lake

I recently had an u/s done for RLQ pain, the results were "vascular or venous lake area is quite prominent in the margin of the uterus." I was diagnosed with PCS in january 09. Nothing was found in the RLQ. my questions is could this cause my pain? my PCS usually causes mid pelvic and LLQ pain, the RLQ pain is new.

my doc said that PCS is a syndrome that not all doctors believe in, which i find hard to believe--especially when my diagnosis was made during surgery--which means the doctor actually saw the varicosities--how do you dispute something that is visualized? i too have had a hard time finding info. do you notice more pain mid cycle? and some months are much worse than others.

Honestly even for me PCS has been the most difficult of the chronic issues I deal with
to get much information on. It seems like most of it just repeats itself.  In my own situation though I found the my Pelvic Pain Physical therapist, provided me more information and help then anyone else.    Though I may get to the point where surgery does become needed I hope to put it off till my body goes through some of the changes on it's own etc.  I HIGHLY recommend that any one suffering from Pelvic Pain get a PT evaluation before many therapies-procedures are tried.  I did not believe this until I went ot one!  Without insurance it was very expensive and hard to do BUT in the end, she found I had adhesions all over my right side that doctors could not feel, that were causing my pain.  She was able to break those up manually instead of doing surgery which in that situation would have caused more ahesions.  The amazing thing was I had not had pevlic surgery since I was 16... so these had been there and grow for MANY years!

If you need a reference for a good one in your area pm me your location and I will contact my Pelvic Pain PT, she networks with many around the world too.  She actually is from Holland though practices here in the US!

I hope that helps some!  Do keep us updated on your situation, we can learn more from one another then anything else!

your correct, the sonogram was done to see why i've had right lower quad pain but the resultssaid "vascular or venous lake area is quite prominent in the margin of the uterus" and my left ovary is more prominent. the radiologist recommends diagnotic surgery to evaluate why the left ovary is larger. (my history includes an ectopic on the left that resulted in having that tube removed). the PCS usually causes pain in my left lower quad. your right things are in different place lying and standing but my pain is in the same area lying sitting or standing.  i am wondering if the "lake" in the "margin of the uterus" is the cause of the pain on the right. and scared of the idea of another surgery. PS the "lake area" has never been mentioned on previous sonograms.

If I understand you right you had a sonogram for Righ lower quadrant pain????
and the results showed PCS, veins in the uterus... but you used to your PCS causing pain only on the left side???

I can only tell you that i have PCS and some other medical issues.  The right side and flank pain is the worst for me!!!  Yet it was the left side that showed PCS on my CT scan!  Since most tests are done with us laying flat, the blood flows away from the uterus and so does not show up at all.  The only way to see all the damaged veins is with a standing  MRI!  Not sure if I answered you ??? or not, if not please explain your abbreviations so I can better answer you!
