December Updates!!

So everyone, whats new with your little ones and whats going on in your lives?

Sarah is 10 months old tomorrow and growing like a weed. She is in 12 month clothing and pushing that size. I think she is going to talk soon.

I am currently 28 weeks pregnant and already on bedrest. Protein levels are WAY too high and have to keep my BP down otherwise this baby is going to have to come earlier than need be!

Hope all is well. Update when you can!

Mikayla is 25lbs 6oz.  She is wearing 12 month clothes also but usually has to wear 18 month pants because she is so long (I'm 5'2" so it didn't come from me!).  She has mastered sitting on her own from being on her stomach.  We feed her bottles in her bouncie chair because it is easiest for her to hold it herself, but she knows how to get out of that also!  Just started pulling herself up a few days ago and has done it about 7 or 8 times.  She gets into everything!!

Eating wise, she is still on baby food but I will give her edible big people food in place of her meals if they are already prepared (i.e. eggs and toast for breakfast, if I don't make that then she gets her baby food).  She drinks anywhere from 21-28oz of formula, the Similac Go and Grow.  I am soooo ready for her to have cow's milk because the cost of formula is so much more.

Being a full time working mom is really taking it's toll.  I just don't have enough time to during the week to spend the time I want to and need to with Mikayla.  For instance, I would like to be able to make her own food but popping open a jar is so much easier at night when I put in a frozen pizza for my husband and me.  But I can't afford to not work.  This also leads me to believe that we not have anymore kids but who knows if my perspective will change once she is a little more independent.

But Mikayla is a very fiesty little girl.  When she wants something she lets you know.  She also has a new favorite thing to do - hit!  She will wack you and saw "owwww" really loud.  So at least she knows it hurts, right? LOL.

Michaela is sick.  Poor bub.  Having a fever again with runny nose and a bit sniffly.  Not doing anything but making sure she drinks plenty for now.

She's been having a cold with fever on and off for the past week.  Anyway a lot of colds going around and we'll watch her closely.  The highest fever coincided with her 4th tooth coming through.  She looks like a little rabbit with 2 big front teeth.  So cute.

She is 11 months in another 3 days, and has just hit 20 lbs, according to my scale.  She can stand alone now and can walk a few steps, though she still prefers to crawl (it's easier and faster for now).

We're off tomorrow to Hong Kong for Christmas, so hope she's well enough to make travelling bearable.  Then the beach for new year.

Wishing you all happy new year.

atlantasea- thats odd your dr told you that you would have it again because my doctor told me that my likely hood of having preclampsia again would decrease with the next pregnancy as long as i had a baby with the same partner.

All is well here. I am enjoying being home with Sarah even if I am on bedrest. Midwife I saw last week told me I could do some things for a few hours and then rest for a few hours and so on....so, its nice to know I am not completely restricted.

Sarah has her first real cold, a sinus infection and post nasal drip and is on amocycllin. They think its from all of her teeth. She got all 4 top teeth within a week of eachother...I noticed one tooth there one day and three more like a week later. She now has a total of 6 teeth. At her Friday appt she weighed 22 pounds 7 ounces! My little ham!

Lucy is now 10 and a half months. She is 20 lbs and lately has started standing without holding onto things.

Lucy says many things- bird, duck, bye, pus, mumma, dadda are the main ones said well.

Still breastfeeding but my supply has been much lower since I fell preggers again. Lucy got her first tooth one week ago and there isn't any sign yet of any more. (second one will probably come when she is 12 months like my other kids)

My doc said that I will probably have pre-ecclampsia again with this pregnancy, but it shouldn't be as bad as the last time. He suggested that we book to induce me 2 weeks before my due date as pre-ecclampsia usually gets much worse (and dangerous for mum and bub) right close to the end of the pregnancy because of the strain on our body. I'm not to sure about that. If it isn't going to be as bad as last time, I'd kind of like the opportunity to go into labour naturally for the first time.

Hope all is well Stephanie, and that you are getting lost of rest and help!

Myra won't be 10 months until the 16th.
She's done SO much this past month!  She started to sit up by herself...I think she could of done it earlier, but I had those footie pj's on her all the time because its been cold here...but once I took them off her, she was sitting up, CRAWLING, says "Da" like theres no tomorrow, Says "hi" while waving & pulls herself upit her crib or on the chair down stairs.
The other kids love it when she crawls...lol  Myra chases them around the house.  Its funny to watch.

Stephanie, sorry to hear about everything you're going through again =(  I wish you the best.  I remmeber watching on Descovery Healthy that once you have Pre-ecclampsia once, you're almost garrenteed to get it again.  Hope you the best!

hi,

yes, sorry to hear about the bedrest. that would be so hard.

michaela doing great though she hasn't been gaining much weight (maybe cause she's so active) and is still about 19 lbs.  She's got 2 teeth now at 10 1/2 months, she took her first stips a few days back, but stil prefers to crawl. She's also talking gibberish, but starting to mimic our words. She says mamma for anything she wants, makes an 'arf' sound for the dogs, 'ya' for Celia - one of her babysitters.

She eats, but only what she wants, after which she spits everything out.  She is still breastfed and I'd guess she's taking more than 20 oz of bmilk a day.  Planning to keep up the bf as long as possible.

Have been trying for no. 2 for the past months, without luck yet.  Will give it until early next year before going to see the fertility dr....

Sorry to hear about your protein levels and that you are on bedrest.  That must be so hard esp with a 10 month old!

Sophia is the same as Sarah, growing like a weed and is in 12 month clothing, she is using some sign lanugage but she still gibber gabbers up a storm and mimics our speech for certain words, too.  I love it!

We are currently trying for baby #2 now.  We just started this past week.  We are going to ttc without help for the next 3 months and then if no luck, back to the fertility doctor.
