Reactions to Using Bi PAP

I have an Interstitial Lung Disease. (Hope I spelled that right). I used a CPAP machine for a short time and then it was changed to a Bi PAP machine. I have only had the Bi PAP 2 nights. Night One- I woke at 3:30 am with a very sore throat and the pressure from the machine was making my throat burn, so I had to take it off. Night Two- I woke up at 2:00 am (last night) with uncontrollable sneezing. The amount of stuff I was blowing out of my nose was ridiculous! I was very congested in my nose and head and it has not stopped. Am I having an allergic reaction to something? Or is this something else? Not sure what to do. I also have a pressure headache!

Glad it helped! I hope that your cold goes away soon, it is no fun using that mask when you are stuffy and coughing.

Yes it did help. That is what the problem was in fact! The dryness was because the humidity was not on! Now the sneezing and the runny nose today may be a cold. Thank you for your help.

Are you using the BiPap with humidity? That could explain your stuffy nose and sore throat. Or perhaps you are coming down with a bit of a cold  but are at the beginning phase of it. I found BiPap to be easier on me than CPap because of the two pressures, it made it easier to breathe out than to try and do that against the constant pressure of Cpap.
I hope this helps
