I have RA and also so does my daughter and recently we both have experienced the feelings you describe in our necks.  Dont panic. get a good latex pillow and try to support your neck and head when sitting for long periods, also try gentle exercise My rheumo says it is referred pain and will not cause serios disability  But I know how  you feel, its a bit scary,  But we are both better now after getting a pillow and resting head and neck more often not just holding it up  Working at computer would cause it too     hope this helps  kind regards

Dear ribbion,

i also have perphel neuropathy and i was wondering if you can get it in your eyes and ears?      It doesn't affects the eyes.

some things that i look at seem to be shaking???? also my vision has gotten worse.                 You need to visit an Opthalmologist for this condition.

what all can make neuropathy worse?               Basic conditions like alcoholism, cigarettesmoking, worsening of diabetes, lack of VItamins

is there any meds to help this stop progressing?          Medicines containing Vit B-6, B-12, Alpha lipoic acid, Neurotin.

what exactly is physiotherapy?    Need to consult a physiotherapist, who will be able to show you the exercises required for the cervical spine arthritis. and you need to continue on it also for few months to get a good, long term results.

Feel free to discuss more. Would appreciate if you post it as a new question.
Regards

Dear Ribbon,
Well you are getting too much stressed up by thinking of getting paralyzed. The symptoms which you are experiencing points towards arthritis of the cervical spine due to which there is persistent pain, numbness, hot spots in the body, crunching sound in the neck, etc.
I would advice you to get it confirmed by doing a cervical spine X-Ray and once confirmed, you need to start medications related to arthritis followed by neck physiotherapy to make the muscles of the neck stronger and being able to tolerate the arthritis in a much better way.
Also the lifestyle needs to be modified by avoiding sitting in front of computers for a longer time period, avoiding long drives.Neck massaging will help a lot.
Feel free to discuss more.
