Any dilation/progress going on with you?

Hey all, just checking in to see how everyone is progressing. For most of us the docs will begin doing cervical checks to see what is going on.
Update on me. Been in pre-term labor since 31 weeks. Not fun!  All meds stopped that was being used to halt the contractions. I am now 36w3d..  And doc said baby is safe to arrive anytime now.
I am 3cm and 50% effaced and baby is -2 station..  Still having contractions but they are not progressing too much. I go in 2x a week now as my BP is high. If Gavin does not arrive on his own next week I will be scheduled for an induction.  So excited to meet the little guy!  :)

I had my last appt. at 38 weeks, 2 days and my dr. still hasn't checked to see how far a long I am.  Part of my wishes he had, but part of me is glad he hasn't since it really doesn't tell you much.  It would either give me false hope or make me sad if nothing has progressed.  We will see if he checks next week....my appt. will be five days before my due date.

i had my 38 weeks appointment todaii and im 3 cm dialated and 70% effaced and also had my membranes stripped which was very uncomfortable for me since then i have been having cramps which i was told is normal

I had my 38 week appt yesterday, and have progressed to 3cm dialated, and 80% effaced! I got my membranes stripped also but am still here and pregnant! good luck to you all. I will be getting induced next wed. if he doesn't come sooner! Here's to hoping!

I am 36 wks, measuring 37 and 3 cm dialated 50%....I want to have the baby soon, hopefully my labor will come one naturally cause I don't want another c-section!!

Daniplusone -- The general rule for our hospital system is 511 -- Contractions a minimum of 5 minutes apart, lasting 1 minute each for at least 1 hour.  You can go to the hospital before this to be evaluated, but then it's up to them whether they admit or not.

Hello to everyone , hope all is well for all you wonderful pregnant woman out there. Rylinn Anna Leigh was born on Jan 21st 2:16 pm , she weighed 6 lbs 12 oz and scored  9 / 9 on apgar. She is perfectly healthy and happy. I am so glad she ishere and I am not prego's any more. I was only in labor for 5 hours and pushed a whopping 2 times. Good luck to all you mommies and soon to be mommies!

I believe it is 4cm......that they will keep you for active labor..but not 100% sure.

Hi everyone, I hope that all is doing well in our final weeks with our pregnancy.  I have a question.  How many cm dialated does a woman need to be before her water breaks before the hospital keeps her.  

I am asking this because when i was 35 weeks along, (2 weeks ago), i went to L&D, with pains, not knowing that i was having contractions.  The docs became aware from the printout from the machine. The docs said that they were not regular enough or strong enough to warrant a stay in the hospital.  I was also checked for dilation, which i was 2-3 and 50%.  I am not sure what 50%means.  And my mucous plug had not un-plugged, and my water had not broken.  I was then discharged.  

I am not sure if i have to wait til one or the other happens (water must be broken or mucous plug gone) or not for them to keep me.  The possibility is great that i have dilated more in the last two weeks.  I have heard that you have to be atleast 4 cm before the hospital keeps you.  Is this true.  What have some of you experienced?

I had a dr appt on Monday and I was 1cm 50% and at -1 station that night I was still 1cm but 90% here it is Sunday and still nothing :(

I just went for a fetal growth scan and hopefully won't have the results until the 25th (around 36 weeks).  I say hopefully because if they call earlier, then it means there might be something going on.  After that, I have an appointment at 38 weeks and then a couple of days later on the 9th.  My OB has talked about inducing early because of the gestational diabetes, but she's willing to let it go on its own so long as my sugar levels are stable (as they have been).  Both my DH and I are getting really excited, but also a little anxious about how much our lives are going to change!  It's all good though.  I stopped obsessing about L&D and have begun obsessing about baby care.  I think that's a good thing...

I'm on my once-a-week appointments with cervix checks at every one.  Our L'il Monkey is head down, has dropped a bit more and I've started thinning out; cervix is still closed.  I'm going to start take Evening Primrose Oil tomorrow to get my cervix nice and soft so that when it's time, it will be able to very easily get out of the way - LOL!

L'il Monkey weighed 6 lbs and 9 ounces and is in the 50th percentile for everything!

I've been having the feeling that I was going 'to go early', but for some reason tonight, I don't think so anymore!  Who knows what's gonna happen or why I'm thinking the way I am ;)

My doctor wont start checking me until 36 weeks unless there is reason to. They dont want to cause anything down there that isnt happening...so, I wont be able to update on that for another 2 weeks......

AFM: I had an OB appt. on Tuesday - I was 34wks5days...He didn't check but I did ask him to externally check to see if she was engaged or not. He said her head is still floating, but very very low. I have my next appt. on the 28th which will be exactly 37wks for me. I'm going to have him check me then. I had DS just over 37wks...I'm not sure if that OB stripped my membranes or not - I just know it hurt! But at that appt. with DS I was already 2cm and 90%. So I'm hoping in 2wks from now I'll be in labor!!! But everything is checking perfectly so far!!!

How exciting!!! I wish I knew if I was going to have my baby in the next couple of weeks!

I am 35 weeks, and as of 33 weeks I was at 1/2 cm dialated, and soft cervix, but not effaced yet. I have been having BH for the last 5 weeks, and they are starting to hurt sometimes, I think the baby has dropped more because my hips, and cervix hurt more. I am so ready to be done! I think I will find out where I am at at my next appt next week. I can't wait to see how I've progressed!
