Burning Pain/Inside Poking Feeling

I had double hernia surgery back in October 09 and here we are Feb 10 and I am still having major burning in my right testacle.  Since surgery I've had 2 sets of injections and had a nerve block done on me and  I'm still having the major burning and twisting feeling.  At times, the pain is so bad that it brings tears and can bring me to the floor.  Since surgery, I've been on Hydor's and it does help, but I'm tired of having to take pain pills all the time.  I've missed a lot of work during this time frame and it affects me after work.  After working a full day I literaly collapse when I get home.  I've lost weight due to just being just to exhausted after work to even cook.
Also at times when I am walking it feels like I'm being poked from the inside going out just below, basically between my scar and testicle.  Yesterday I was out shopping with a friend and after a little bit I started to get that poking feeling then the burning followed it.  When walking I press with my hand to help in easing the pain.
My original doctor that performed the double hernia surgery said he could go in to trim back the scarring tissue that I do have and sever the nerve.  Now, if I do that, will that help with the burning sensation that I'm getting and could it affect my sexual life?  I'm really sick and tired of the pain.  What are some options out there for this.  I have had a cat scan and it showed that the mesh was in place.

I see that you are no longer an active member on this account, and for that I am truly sorry. So not sure if this will make it to you. But I was going through some post because I have been contemplating having the mesh removed completely and having the doctor repairing my hernias with sutures.  Since it has been 9 years for me and the mesh has grown into the tissue and nerves and could be a great or far worse. But as you have said, I am tired of taking pains meds and neuropathy meds. And I'm ready to take charge of my life back.
But I was curious if your doctor ever did cut back the mesh and if it helped at all?  The other thing I was wondering though is when you had your original surgery was it open or laparoscopicly done?
Thank you for your info.  And again sorry that no one was available to help answer your questions before or help you years ago.
