I read on Stop the thyroid madness about NDT from Thailand, called Thyroid-S.  I researched it and there have been great reviews.  So I ordered it and have been taking it for 2 days now.  I feel ok but only 2 days in. Anyone else on this?  I know it is hard to get use to NDT when you have been on synthroid/cytomel.  they were not working for me. I am hoping this does.  thank you for your help.

Armour must be taken 1 hr before or 4 hes after all foods, coffee , vitamins and supplements and even some meds,  I can only take my bp med with armour all other meds have to be scheduled witin that time pattern.Def a task I use a med app on my cell to make it easier, also cant take any stomach meds acid reducer etc as they will interfere with absorption same with laxatives, stool softners etc, and cant have soy products. I have to have calcium for bone loss which isnt supposed to be taken with any thyroid med so had to learn to carefully schedule. My total thyroud was removed over 20 plus yrs ago they didnt know alot of this at that time just duscovered some new infov2 yrs ago, so I constantly recheck.  Its been a rollarcoaster just scheduling. I have Hashimoto's but I'm not on thyroid hormones and never have been. My thyroid has been acting up lately and I'm thinking of self medicating with this stuff. Can someone please send me info? Obviously I'm going to check my TSH, FT3 and FT4 before I put myself on this medication and I won't take it unless I need it. How do I take this? How much does it cost? How do I make sure not to take too much? (hyper is bad too)

Why are you considering self-medicating instead of finding a good thyroid doctor?

Because I can't afford to pay for a good doctor out of pocket (my insurance gives me very limited options for PCPs and specialists and I haven't even been referred to an endocrinologist).

Hi gimel! Would you mind PMing me the same info.? I've been on levothyroxine for 7 years (since I have birth). My doctor said they my hypothyroidism was caused by my pregnancy. I don't feel that the Rx I take currently is helping at all & have been told about Armour but the only doctor that prescribes it from a compounding pharmacy costs $350.00 for an initial visit. Any help or info you have would be really appreciated :) TIA

Before giving up on Levo, let's look at your lab test results and reference ranges shown on the alb report.  Also, have you been tested for Vitamin D, B12 and ferritin?  Also cortisol?

Anyone can order it online and no country restriction and no need of prescription too. There are three brands of NDT from Thailand and Thyroid S is the least best. All you need to have is an international payment supported debit or credit card. If that is not available then also no problem as western union money transfer also supported by most sellers and you can deposit money in local western union agent shops.This is actually helpful for people in countries where there is no such kind of NDT available like India. For more information on how to order it please PM me.

Concerning dosing 1 tablet is 60 mg which is approx 75 mcg of levothyroxine. So if your doctor prescribed you 75 mcg then you can take 1 tablet daily. If your dose is 37.5 mcg then cut it half and take. You can use pill cutter. Also if its 25 mcg or less then 1/4 of 1 pill and that too can be cut easily using pill cutter. NDT is best for all and especially for people whose Free T3 is less when compared with Free T4 or those who have trouble converting T4 to T3 as levothyroxine supply only T4 while NDT contain T4, T3, T2, T1 and calcitonin and a natural solution rather than synthetic one.

aagh! ive been scrolling through this forever! im actually on an ndt but not on enough of it- i moved from colorado last year and for whatever reason (altitude?) when i relocated out east i went crazy HYPER for the first time ever- so my new dr (who had never dealt with ndts before) dropped my med back from 3.75 grains to 2.25, it needs to come up to like 3.00- i have an hpa axis problem amongst other things-  thats why the dose was so high- my tsh sitch is broken (tsh is NOT really a good indication of what is happening with your thyroid anyway- its a PITUITARY hormone! but its the only test any of these frustrating drs wanna look at -ugh so its  reading normally but im DYING right now)- im trying to start a new job but i dont even have the energy to answer the phone or wash my hair-
