Weight changes are inevitable in eating disorder recovery. I personally fluctuated 15-20 lbs in recovery but my therapist and support group have discussed these issues and instead of continuing to see the weight gain in the eating disorder eyes as unacceptable and bad you need to use your healthy voice to tell yourself that this is part of the recovery path and you just need to trust the process. I had a really hard time with this as well but once I got past the number on the scale during weigh ins things got easier and I learned to just accept my body as it is. Sickness after eating may be due to a couple things but it depends on if you are physically sick (diarrhea, bowel changes, stomach pain) or if it is mental discomfort in your stomach when you have food in it. If it is a physical thing talk to your doctor. If its just a mental discomfort with food and your eating disorder mind makes you believe it is making you sick you will have to teach yourself that food is nutrition and necessary to make you strong, healthy, and free of an eating disorder.
Dont give up! The recovery process is difficult with lots of ups and downs and stomach pains and weight change are just part of the process but it is actually a good sign since it shows that you are authentically trying to move away from the eating disorder.
