To London Dad,

I have a daughter who is 2.5 yr old and exactly same behaviour pattern that you have described and she is been under Early Intervention for last 6 months and has made good progress and grasps quickly of what has been taught , but still does not respond to instructions completely and words are very few like may be 15 to 20 at the most.

since you are ahead of me in terms of your child's age could you help me with what you are doing and how has been the progress.

Hi, I have 2.5 yr old son very similar to your description. Does not speak or understand instructions. He babbles, and sings few songs but does not seem to understand language at all except for 'STOP' and 'NO". Otherwise happy, non-demanding child, prefers to play alone but does get involved and also initiates play with sister and mother (myself).  
I am doing early intervention for him but I would be very interested to know in what else I should be  doing. Also , you both have your child older than mine, so it would be great to know the progress.

Am not certain who is london dad maybe the other members will know otherwise we have another childrens forum its parenting children 1-5 also 6-12    so go back to the forums page take a look it may be there ,also a children with special needs forum ...
