Pain in and below right rib area

I have had varying degrees of pain in my right rib area since December, 2009.  I have public health care and it takes days/weeks to get appointments scheduled.  I saw doctor in March, April, and May; with blood work done each time.  Also had abdominal ct done first of May.  My liver counts are three times the normal but everything else is perfect.  Ct showed no stones, abnormalities or gall bladder or liver; so all is good.  Pain is located below my right underarm about where the breast is and ends at my waist area.  The pain covers a pretty good area.  Since December I have tried numerous things to alliviate the pain (altering diet, fluids, homepathic remedies, etc.), with no success.  At times it feels like a balloon is being inflated under the rib area.  Sometimes my bra or my pants (in the waist) add to the discomfort.  Sitting in any posiition and driving are very uncomfortable.  This Tuesday; my doctor said she did not have any idea what was causing my pain but to try Aleve as it could possible be related to shingles.  (had NO outbreaks of rash, blistering, etc. indicating such).  BUT - did bloodwork again to see if liver levels were the same and IF they are; she will call me and I can go to the ER!!!  Bizarre!!  naturally I have heard nothing.  Anyone have any suggestions as to what I do or ask for next?  The Aleve seems to help "some" but the balloon pressure and discomfort is there.  I hate the "scales" of pain used by doctors as since I have been in pain for so long - a 5 to me with conditioned pain tolerance may be a 15 to another person!!!
