4 year old fears

My daughter had a strong very real fear of the wind at 3 for about 9 months. Now she is very afraid of the vacuum in our pool. She freaks out if a toy or floatie goes near the vacuum and it is never on in her prescence. I try to reason with her and show her it is not scary but she can't get past it. Is this fear normal? How should I handle it? By the way, she is no longer afraid of the wind. She understands it now.

Has anything happened recently that could have made her afrid , any new happenings ? Could she have seen something scary on TV or have any people in her life been playing a loud, noisy game with her, it doesnt take a lot to make chilren around this age afraid of what we think of as nothing...Dont over react when she freaks out ,make no issue of it as sometimes it can feed off itself ...You say you try to reason with her, so try not making any biggy about it ...it will pass..
