Same upper left quadrant pain

I have the same pain/discomfort that you all are talking about too. I have IBS (mostly with constipation). I had an abdominal ultrasound about 9 months ago that showed nothing except that the contents of my intestines were barely moving. My doc said that it's my transverse colon that is causing me the discomfort because everything is moving so slowly. It comes & goes mostly but has been a constant now for about 3 weeks. I do feel better after BMs but the discomfort is still there. I made an appt with the gastro doc to see what she thinks  & maybe schedule another colonoscopy. (I had one about 4 years ago that showed everything OK). I am also about to do a 7 day juice fast/intestinal cleanse to see if that helps. I also may call a friend who does Chinese medicine - she was the ONLY person who helped my IBS at it's peak years ago. My worry is that this is not IBS at all.... I am not happy to read that all of you are suffering but it does help to know that there are folks out there with similar pain & frustration!

About two months ago I woke up to severe left sided upper quadrant pain and severe nausea. It felt like it was just under my ribs below the sternum.  I had rib cage pain, usually in the front but sometimes in my side and when most severe, in my back. It has lasted ever since although it has lessoned a small amount. My ULQ is also too painful to palpate and wearing any pants is unbearable (I have been wearing overalls or sweats instead).  I was so nauseated I got dehydrated and hospitilized for three days.  My pain was lessoned by lying on my back. Standing made me feel as though something heavy was coming out from under my left ribs and pain would escalate.
I had gone to the ER twice and was admitted the second time.  Even though it seems the doctors don't or won't accept a challange and prefer to send you away, I have chosen to try and help myself.  I "have" found that wrapping my ribs using my professional choice back support takes my pain from an 8 to about a 4 or lower. Bringing the pain down brought the nausea down enough that I can eat small amounts.  I've found problems eating anything but fish, chicken, fruit and popsicles and only in small amounts.  I weigh 140# and am 5' 10", I eat very healthy (have never eaten spicy foods), exercise daily, don't smoke or drink EVER.

I just managed to squeeze in at the GI's office a week earlier than planned. I need to get some answers (or at least reassurance) or my anxiety is going to take over!  Have you seen the posts about Shingles having these kinds of symptoms (without the rash). It's definitely something that I plan on bringing up to the doc since my pain is localized to the left side only.

I've been having pain in my upper left part of the abdomen too and so far no real answers. I can't believe we're the only ones right now except that 10 year old post! I've had x-rays, blood work, urinalysis and an ultrasound and all came back normal except that I have a large gallstone in my gallbladder. They don't think it's that, though, but I wonder. I'm supposed to see a GI doctor next. I've had digestive issues in the past so not sure if this is related, if it's my colon or not.
I hope you and I both get answers soon!
