Any idea what could be causing this??

Hello, I am 19 yrs old and wish I knew what was wrong. Last September, I was 18 still, I had to have my gallbladder removed. I've been doing well and haven't had any problems till recently and I dont know if it has something to do with the surgery or is something completly different!?! About 3 weeks ago I developed  a small rash on my lower back. I tried a few different thing but it wouldn't go waway. Eventually it spread up my back and started to hurt expecially when I sweat or showered or got anything on it. Last week I woke up to a swollen and completly numb face. I went to the doctor and they sent me to the ER. the ER doctor diagnosed me with pityriasis rosea and but me on a 12 day steriod treatment. I went home and the next day ended up back in the ER cause my airway swelled almost completly shut. By this time both my eyes are swollen shut, my face is numb, and I cant breath !!!!? The doctor gives me some shots, an inhaler and told me that it was pityriasis rosea!! The swelling as gone down and my face started to regain feeling, and I thought I was getting better :)!! But then about 3 days ago I've started getting muscle cramps in my abdomen and chest to the point where I have to sit down or curl in a ball cause it hurts to move and it hurts to breath and I feel like I'm dying. My face as also been feeling like it's 'asleep'?? not completly numb but tingling. Now since this has started I've developed a really bad cough that gets worse at night and I haven't been able to sleep too well. Then yesterday I started having diaherria, and it's yellow?? just like urine??. I feel like I constantly am running to the bathroom and am constantly thirsty, tired, and in pain. The women I'm living with took me back to the doctor and they said it's this stupid rosea thing but everywhere thing I read online doesn't show or mention any of these other syptoms including swelling and numbness???? any ideas????

Just got back out of the hospital for the third time in 2 weeks :(. Haven't been able to keep any food down for about 3 days now. The ER ran blood work and all they came up with is low blood sugar (86). My pulse and blood pressure were both also low (54 and 92/45). They ran some other test all which came back negative or normal. They put me on more meds and an all liquid diet for the next 3 days but said they don't know for sure what it is. The one nurse told me I just had the flu!!! Well I guess I'll just have to wait and see if any of these meds help. Post again if anything new shows up or the meds start working.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
If you have been having some gut issues on and off before the rash appeared, then it could be due to Crohn’s Disease. Along with gut symptoms skin disorders and arthritis too are commonly seen with Crohn’s. Crohn’s disease is a difficult entity to diagnose. An upper GI series using barium dye is done to see the condition of small intestines. The degree of involvement of the large and small intestine may vary from person to person.  A biopsy is the most confirmatory.
An elevated ESR does confirm inflammation in the body. Low protein, minerals and iron in blood are the other findings in Crohn’s which may or may not be present. A recent advancement in Crohn’s diagnosis is video capsule endoscopy.
Also it is possible that you are allergic to some food item. So log in what you eat and the symptoms when they appear and see if there is a co-relation. Please consult a gastroenterologist and get the stool examined.
Hope this helps. Do let me know if there is any thing else and keep me posted. Take care!

My diet stays pretty consistant. I avoid a lot of fats and am a vegetarian. I don't eat sweets (candy cookies cakes brownies etc). I drink only water milk and juices. Surprisingly with be in the hospital twice now they haven't run any blood work. Hell, they aint run any tests what so ever. I am planning on going to a different doctor either tomorrow or Friday. Hopefully he'll be of more help.

Oh dear, you need to keep a diary of your symptoms and keep pursuing them at the hospital to do more tests and find out what is wrong and what they can do to help. I am not too sure, but the problems you are having with going to the toilet sounds like you may have a severe allergy to something, or that it could be diabetes? Have you had your blood sugars tested? If there is anything new in your diet try removing it and see if that helps? Sorry I can't be more helpful, this is definitely something your doctors need to help you with. I really hope that you get better I really do xx
