body temperature

My question is this. Is there a real disorder that has to do with regulating your body temperature? It seems as though in the winter I get a lot colder then everyone else, and I have a hard time getting warm once i get cold.  In the summer if it is very hot and humid i tend to sweat a lot more then other people, and cant cool down as quickly.  I do have a history of dehydration. While pregnant I went into pre labor due to this fact.  My face tends to get very red when I exercise even if i feel fine and not overly hot or tired.   People think I am faking, and that I am just being childish, but I seriously can't stand one extreme or the other when it comes to temperatures. Thanks

I found these posts thanks to a google search on the topic. I have Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Sjogrens Syndrome, and Hypothyroidism. It has only been a couple of years since being diagnosed but this problem with regulating my body temperature are escalating. I see a Rheumatologist, Endocrinologist, and Primary Care Physician. I feel like they all see this as not a big problem and I'm tired of getting the "there's nothing I can do to help you" attitude. I have gone from just a nuisance to completely affecting my life and a very severe issue. I can relate to all of you. I no longer leave the house or socialize because I'm constantly sweating with no exertion. I recently lost my job, lost a job interview, been embarrassed in front of my son's teachers, and much more because I'm wearing sweaters and sweating at the same time. Someone please help! I'm not just embarrassed, I can't function anymore!

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
There are certain disorders that affect temperature regulation. Primary are Vit B12 deficiency, thyroid problems, diabetes, Sjogren’s syndrome and electrolyte imbalance. Since you also have dehydration problem, all these conditions should be investigated.
It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

I'm not positive, but I believe autonomic dysfunction can cause these problems - maybe try googling it and see if the symptoms listed are what you're experiencing.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

You can get a cold in anytime even in summer  1 time I got a cold in summer and my temp. was nearly 40 but it kept going down in 2 days so don't worry but you should see a doctor to give you the suitable medecine.

I believe there is, seriously. My husband will tell you that our 22 years of marriage my body always is what the temperature is. It is frustrating. I can not handle the heat at all, and my husband will tell you my body temperature is HOT and I feel faint in the heat, and when I get cold and cant warm up I have to take a hot shower to do so.Let me know if you figure this out. I KNOW it does exsist because I deal with it! :)
