Me Too

I'm having the same exact problem as you.   I see many other people posting with similiar problem but not a lot of answers.   I had a terrible flu/virus at the beginning of June and two months later I'm still feeling the effects of it.   I had high fever and a cough that I thought was a heck of a lot like whooping cough which was going around at the time.  However my doctor never suggested that as the problem.    Now,  I'm constantly clearing my throat without relief.  Its exhausting and frustrating as the throat clearing doesn't give any relief.
I see a pulmatologist next week but after doing a bit of research on my own I wonder if its not partly due to Larynx reflux.

I already have asthma and have seen a pulmonologist and he ordered a PFT.   The problem could be that I have Sjogrens Syndrome which often effects the lungs.   I've had bronchitis two or three times a year since I was a child and as I'm getting older each time its harder and harder to shake and can never shake it on my own because it always turns into infection.

A pulmonologist would be able to help if the issue is just getting over the virus that you had in June.  Lingering respiratory issues are frequently treated with asthma meds,  but that would not necessarily mean that you have asthma.  You are also correct to suspect acid reflux.  You could try something like Zantec or Prilosec to see if they help before your pulmo visit.

If you have a congested cough, a Mucinex type product helps to thin the mucous so that it comes out more easily.  Drink LOTS of water with Mucinex as well as it naturally thins mucous.

Feel better.

This is almost always post-viral healing which mimics asthma..see a pulmonary doctor.  He or she will understand this issue well and help make sure other problems don't exist.  Inhaled asthma medicines often help
