Constant humming

I know more people have this "disorder" and seem to live with it with no problems. My constant humming continues when I eat or walk and because of it I have a hard time breathing. I can't put my finger on when or why it started but I need to find a way to make it stop.
Any suggestions (other than "live with it") are appreciated.

I find myself humming while I am at home, reading, shopping, or whatever I am doing. In the past 3 years I have lost my Mom, my best friend and my daughter last year. I am afraid I will hum when in public without realizing it and people will think I'm crazy. The humming has no melody, just making noise. I admit I have anxiety and take meds for this, but I would love to stop humming. My son teases me about it and mimics me. Help!!

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
If you are always humming then this is either a habit disorder or a method to overcome anxiety. There are many techniques to alter this habit or behavior disorder. Please consult a psychologist.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
