small hard bumps in pubic region

Recently i noticed several small pinkish bumps in my pubic region. The majority of them are below my belly button and they are a bit spread out and go into the pibic hair region. They do not itch at all. They are not painful. A few have a hair sticking out of them but others do not. I investigated and sort of picked at one with tweesers and what looked like a hard white infection came out like what you see with an infected hair. Then it bled for a minute. But not all of them have hairs coming out. What does this sound like???

Hello,
Yes it could be because of the irritation to the baby powder. Use the cream prescribed by your GP and keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Avoid any kind of cosmetics.
If the bumps turn into blister sort of painful bumps, then get a second option from another dermatologist.

I hope it helps. Take care and regards.

I went to the doctor and got it checked. He said it was foliculitis. It is getting better but not totally after the ten days of cefelexin and a topical treatment called bactroban i think. He gave me 4 more days of the oral antibiotic. I waited a few days to start using the medicine because i thought it was going away and i was just using baby powder and triple antibiotic ointment. It irritated it and made it itch. could this just be irritation from the dry skin caused by th baby powder?

Hello,
Without examination, confirmation of a diagnosis is tough but it can be contact dermatitis, rash due to friction rub, folliculitis, cysts ,molluscum contagiosum(multiple, small, dome-shaped papules, often with a central depression or plug) or warts(caused by HPV infection).

Apply warm compresses, Neosporin ointment and calamine lotion and avoid messing with it. You  can take anti-inflammatory pain killers like ibuprofen or acetaminophen. If the lumps persist then it will be best to get it evaluated from a dermatologist.

I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
