Radiation side effects

I had a lumpectomy 12-9-10.  After having radiation, I get some painful heartburn right under my breast where my ribs almost meet.  Is this common?  I also have shortness of breath and when I cough, I sound like I have a smokers cough.  My cough is not chronic.  Is this common?

I would love some answers.  Thanks so much.

Hi,
Yes, some people can develop "radiation pneumonitis," a lung reaction that causes a cough, shortness of breath three to nine months after completing treatment.
I also had developed the same symptoms that eventually went away after a while.
Please click on the link below for more information on radiation side effects.

I Hope you'll feel better soon.... :)
