Brownish discoloration on finger.

Hello,

I have discovered a brownish/yellowish/orangish stain on 2 of my fingers. This has happened to me 2 other times in the past month... All have appeared in the morning.
At first, I thought that it could perhaps be my acne medication from the night before, but it that we so, my whole face would have the same issue as well- which it does not.
It does not itch, smell, nor does it hurt.
I have not 100% ruled out the possibility that I could have touched something the night before, BUT I really do not think that is the issue at hand (pardon the pun). Both of my fingers (located right next to eachother) are showing signs this discoloration.
Lastly, I tried rubbing it off with soup and a scrub for literally 5 consecutive minutes (in the shower) and it wouldn't come off at all, so I proceeded my other shower activites and by the end of my shower it had come off a little bit more- either has to do with time, or soaking it with water. I can speculate all day.
I am a little concerned. Can someone, perhaps an MD help me out? Thanks.

I, too, have a tannish spot of discoloration on my fingers. It really just appeared there, as skeptical it may seem. It has stayed on my finger and hasn't faded nor has it changed in any way since it formed on my finger.

I've had this problem for a few days now....or at least, that's when I first noticed it.  I'm a smoker, so the first thing I thought of was nicotine stain...although I thought it odd since I've never had anything like this before....so why now.  It's my index finger and middle finger of left hand (I am right handed).

I've scrubbed and scrubbed and it helps....but does not completely go away.  it is the color of a spray-on tan product.  It covers mostly my fingernails....but some of the discoloration has spread downward towards my fingers.

I have never seen anything like this and would love to figure out what it is.  I haven't touched anything out of the ordinary, eaten anything out of the ordinary....am on a lot of medications....but nothing new.  Nothing in my life has changed except for this odd discoloration that seemingly has appeared out of no where.

I too have brown tannish discoloration to my right hand I don't know if it's from the retinol I've been using on my face or something else. I think I'll stop using it for awhile and see if it helps. I'm using ROC products

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Since the brownish discoloration has been coming off, it looks like a temporary skin condition. Keep an eye on the materials you come in contact with as they may also cause staining of the fingers. I suggest you to get it examined from a dermatologist also to confirm the diagnosis.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
