help?

Iam a 37 year old woman of 5 and been having palpitations  on and off for 13 years. Lately it has gotten way worse and it makes me really scared. I am a single mother with 2 small children and not very good health care coverage at this time. Is there anyone else out there with my symptoms that can relate to me? As of two weeks ago i have had several episodes of skipping heart beats, light headed, slight pain in chest area, tight back, and weakness? Because of these symptoms its hard to get any sleep (which i know i need to be healthy) and when iam ready to fall asleep sometimes the heart skipping starts and scares me again.I know its not good to worry but i cant help it.I would just assume iam having of anxiety but i have a lot of physical issues as well as a pretty low blood pressure of 95/62. I hope some one can help ease my mind that may have similar problems??

Thank you so much for your response.I have a regular dr appt on June 6th with a doctor i got through a city program so i hope they will help me figure out what is going on with me i have recently been told by a friend that it may be low thyroid because of all my symtoms. If i do not get help from the new dr i will take your advice and see about trying to call the helpline you said.Although i have been having irregular heartbeats for over 12 years the doctors i have seen in the past always say they see nothing unusual and cant diagnose me with anything because they never catch a eppisode but possible may be svt? I dont know the difference  in pvc or svt?

Hi, the skipping heart beats sound like PVCs, I get these and they are very common and not life threatening unless there'd are other heart problems aswell. You BP is a bit low and if you are then having PVCs your blood will be being pumped around much less efficiently as the ventricle contracts before  it's had a chance to fill with blood properly. Has anything changed recently that could be the cause? Are you a healthy weight and do you exercise? Are you dressed or anxious? All these things can have an effect and many more. Ideally you should discuss with a doctor if you can afford to. I live in the uk where our system is quite different and so please excuse me as I don't fully understandhow the USA health system works. In the UK the is a charity called the British heart foundation, they have a helpline. I have spoke to a cardiac nurse on this before and he was very helpful. The phone call may be affordable and they don't need to know whe you live. Maybe worth thinking about unless there's an equivalent organisation in the US.
