post photocoagulation

Hello. I am 30 years old and had laser phototocoagulation for the first time about 5 years ago for a retinal tear. My vision is -7, Once again, I started seeing flashes the other day so I went to my doctor. She found a small "tag" tugging on my retina which could "lead" to another retinal tear. Therefor, once again, I had the laser photocoagulation. The doctor told me that I could go back to running and lifting "light" weights the next day. I would like a second opinion about whether or not this is okay...because I know it can take a few weeks for the procedure to seal.  Also, I am still seeing the flashes...not more than before though...and I forgot to ask doc if this would be normal. Thanks so much for your second opinion!

If you start noticing something new or different or more severe flashes, you should call the doctor.

Ok to still see flashes.  I normally wait at least two weeks and confirm a good seal prior to recommending full exercise.  Light running is likely OK.  Either way, you need a repeat exam in 2-3 weeks to be sure.
