My first one I waited till the very last minute and had our son within the hour after we arrived, the 2nd one I went too early and it just stunk :( My contractions slowed down because of feeling "interrupted." This time I want to make sure I do most of my laboring at home. I want to keep active this time if possible, I always just have to be close to the toilet though I swear. I'm usually throwing up, going to the bathroom, etc. I want to try and do some tub time maybe to see if that helps too.
And yes I totally do forget how small they are when they come out. I keep analyzing our boys now while they sleep, looking at how big they are (one is 9 and the other is 5) to think that they were that tiny at one point!
Forgot to mention with our 2nd son, my waters broke probably days before and I never went into labor (was extremely hygienic during this time to not get infection). Well anyways my bags resealed on their own and I had no idea, so probably would have had a quicker 2nd labor had we all realized and had the 2nd bag of waters ruptured manually.
You forget how tiny they are when they come home. I figure about the size of a bag of sugar for the body so for us that was the lowest setting.
We'll grab the carseat when i go into labor it's in the hall closet by the door and even if we forget it my hubby can come back and pick it up since we're only 5 minutes from the hospital.
For me I stay home in early labor and don't go until I get my first active labor contraction. You know the first one that makes you say TIME TO GO. That's what I did with my last two kids and it seemed to work out I was only at the hospital a couple hours before the baby was born. Both times I was about 5 cm when I got there.
Yes got the carseat about 2 weeks ago and its on the lowest setting and ready to go. We put it back in the box so it doesn't get cat hair on it. I have no idea when we will actually place it in the car. I'm thinking soon, but I am sure everyone thinks I am crazy. I was almost thinking the lowest setting was too short but now that you mentioned it too maybe that should be just right?
I have everything together but did not actually pack the bag yet. How soon do you go to the hospital when you are in labor? I remember reading that you have quick labors so was curious.
