Glucose Testing...

Has anyone of you wonderful ladies done the glucose test yet? I had my one hour yesterday but failed with a result of 144. Its not omg scary high but enough for my doctor to send me for the three hour. Im praying i pass that one and not becoming diabetic. Just thought this would be a good topic to keep everyone updated on.

I just was borderline for my 3 hour too. My fasting was normal, my 1 hour was normal but REALLY close to the cut-off, my 2nd hour was abnormal, and my third hour was normal. My doctor offered me to option of going to a diabetic counselor or redoing the test. Since I'm already almost 28 weekd, I'm doing the diet change and hoping that solves it! Good luck to you!!!!

I did pass the 3hr but kind of border line. So i will be re taking it at 28 weeks.
Having sugar in urine can be a sign of diabetes but im not sure at what amout it becomes a worry. I have also never heard of a 2hr test only 1,3, and 5. You can have a bladder infections with out symptoms. Your doctor saying you did not need a glucose test because you have no risk is not smart in my opinion because you dont need family history to develope gestational diabetes.

how did your 3 hour one go? i hope you passed ok :)
i had a urine sample done on monday and she said there was +1 glucose in it so she s ordered a 2 hour glucose test for monday. prior to my urine sample she said i didnt need to do a glucose test as i don t have any of the risk factors.  are there any other reasons for glucose to show up in urine?
  she did say there were nitrates too which she said she s testing for  bladder infection, although i have no symptoms of one, could the two be connected?

Yes i did fast which is whats scary to me. The last 1 hour i did, during last mc, not fast and result was 131. I dont have the results on the 3 hour yet but should have them today. Im praying i dont have gd but it wont come as a surprise if i do.

my doc ordered a 1 hour glucose test early because i have a history of diabetes in my immediate family and with twins they wanted to do one earlier.....i passed with a result of 121 which doc said was very good

did you fast before your 1 hour? i did not drink anything or eat anything which is what i was told was the best way to take the test

i have to take the test again at 28 weeks to make sure i havent developed gd
