Please try not to make yourself nuts until you hear what the test results are. I have a few autoimmune diseases myself and most of the time I lead a fairly normal life. I do have a significant amount of joint and muscle pain, but meds take care of that most of the time. I have Sjogren's Syndrome, Reyanaud's Phenomenon, Hashimoto's Thyroiditis and mixed connective tissue disease. I also have IBS and a whole host of secondary syndromes and symptoms. Unless I am having a flare I do very well. Right now I am flaring, and work seems like the biggest imposition in the world. I just keep telling myself what Dory does in Finding Nemo - "just keep swimming, just keep swimming..." I do find that a sense of humor is a huge help. Autoimmune disease can be debilitating and scary, but the scariest part is not being able to get information. Once you know how to take care of yourself and have a good medical team (I have a rheumatologist, and endocrinologist, an ENT and a gastroenterologist), you'll get lined out. I go to the University of Texas Medical Branch and they are awesome. First rheumy was an idiot (they come in all different jobs, lol) and I fired him. Now my team works together and I am doing a lot better. Good luck to you and I hope you get some answers soon.
