Who is breastfeeding? How is it going?

I'm breastfeeding and then pumping after each feeding and giving him the rest in a bottle. We have to do it this way for about another week since our little guy is only 5 pounds and has been having jaundice problems. Other than that he's latching really well and now that I have bigger shields for pumping that doesn't hurt anymore.

With my daughter bf'ing never felt right it hurt every time and was a miserable experience. This guy just hops right on and has no issues. The only thing is that he seems to think I'm his pacifer at night. When he wakes up at night he wants to nurse, but falls asleep like right away, but wants to stay on the breast. It's a battle to get him settled back down to bed without my boob in his mouth.

Ouch!! Been there with two cracked nipples and double mastetis with my daughter. More power to you for pushing through the pain and keeping at it!!

I'm two weeks in and starting to run into a few problems. They are making me pump more often and bottle feed to give him the hind milk that has more fat in it. Well it's thrown our nursing schedule way off so he doesn't nurse as much. Also the pumping is hurting my nipples again. I'd like to fast forward about two weeks to when I hope things will even out again after he's 6 pounds.

I am, 5 weeks and going strong. My boy, Benjamin, is putting on an avg 150-220grams each week, so i definately got the good stuff!!
I almost gave up after having a cracked nipple (week 2), but pushed through the pain (brought me to tears every time i had to feed).

Im not gave it up like 5 days after birth I just use enfamil, then i do what ever without it going thru my milk

You can drink mothers milk tea, you can pick it up at almost any grocery or vitamin store. About 3 cups a day really helps with your milk supply. Also eating oatmeal and drinking half of a wheat or stout beer can help increase your milk supply. (I didn't make up the beer thing, ask a lacation consultant it's true) For the constipation you can talk to your dr about a supplement for baby. We used a tiny bit of fiber with my daughter and with 1st son I put a half a teaspoon of light caro syrup in his bottle. He would go a few hours later.

Mariana, don't feel like you have to breastfeed! That was the mistake I made with my daughter and not all babies take too it. She didn't and I was driving myself nuts for months trying to make it work. It made me super depressed and so this time around I have said if it doesn't work or we have problems I won't feel bad about quitting. Having a new baby or babies is hard enough you don't need to be beating yourself up over something like this. Formula babies do just as good as bf ones and I think they sleep longer too.

I had a c section on Sept 20 after 15 hours of labor and I just CAN'T breastfeed! I am crazy frustrated. I was sick the first 5 days after giving birth with vomiting and high blood pressure and OMG! The first POOP was a NIGHTMARE!! I was crying with the pain, spent over 5 hours on and off in the bathroom and it was my birthday! HORRIBLE!  I got the Madela rental pump and trying to pump as much as I can but the days fly and I feel like I am not doing it as much as I should. I'm sad because I really wanted to breastfeed. My little boy latches well but gets frustrated because I have very little milk. My baby girl has latching issues and we tried with a nipple at the doctor's office. I'm starting to feel like giving up but I feel people has high expectations and they ask "How is the breastfeeding going?" I want to scream and say: NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!!!  I feel like I'm disappointing everyone :(
I just pump and got freaking 3cc, what the heck!! This nursing specialist wants me to pump every two hours all day long, and I mean even at night time 24/7.... I need to sleep a bit... not sure how I'm going to do this with twins and my hubby not really helping much because I calm the babies faster than he does and he gets frustrated. I'm writing this and realizing that the breastfeeding pressure may be just too much to handle.... I better have a family meeting and vent somehow. I'm about to explode with frustration:(

Hello everyone!  I finally had my baby girl, Lucy, on 9/21 via c-section after being in labor for almost 24 hours.  I had issues with her latching on as my nipples were too short/flat and apparently she has a short tongue.  I've tried pumping but it seems that i'm drying up already.  Does anyone have experience with this?  If so, what can I do to produce more milk?  Even if i have to pump the breast milk exclusively, i'm fine with that, I just need to get enough milk to feed her with.  Also, I've been using Infamil Prosobee Soy formula to supplement her on and she's been uber constipated and just screams throughout the day whenever she needs to have a bowel movement.  She's lactose like her mama so she has to be on something that is lactose free.  Does anyone have any tips on helping a constipated newborn or any type of formula that is lactose free and low iron?

Hey ladies well I TRIED breatsfeeding but little Adrian doesn't latch on . I guess its just because my nipple is wayyy to big for him and his mouth doesn't open wide enough.. I do pump! I started him on formula and I'm doing both.

He's a big little guy when he was born he weighed 8Lbs 3oz and was 20 and a half inches long. He's now going on 2 weeks on Monday and is 8LBs 10 oz and is 21 inches long. :)

I'm breastfeeding as well. My daughter was born on 9/23 and she is doing great. I am using these breast shields from Medela that actually help pull your nipple out which are wonderful! It has really helped her latch on. I am also pumping the excess milk and storing it while giving her one bottle of breastmilk a day. I exclusively breastfed my 2yr until she was one and hope I can do it with this one too.
