Posterior sternoclavicular joint dislocation

I had a motorbike accident on the 1st April and 3 days later they realised I had Posterior sternoclavicular joint dislocation and operated. Everything went ok other than they said at the time it looked like the other side (right side) was also dislocated and lower than the left side but as I was not complaining or suffering they did not fix it. I have been for a follow up with the thoracic surgeon today and told him about a dizziness I have when I lay down and look to the right, this only happens when I lay down. I have a real tightness in my neck which I thought was due to the operation and when I drink anything it feels like it is trickling down the left hand side, I also have to now sleep with my mouth open , all of these things may have no relevance but I wish I had now mentioned them. He said they will see me again in 3 months and may go in and do the same operation on the right hand side I cant dream of going through all this pain again, does anyone have any experience on this. I was also told today the broken rib I had top left was left alone because they could not pull it forward they should have taken it out but felt it was too big of an operation after all the trauma I already had. I have a lump which apparently will not go in this area too now.
Thanks
And I am supposed to start physio next week should I be doing any ?

Many times when one side of the body is unable to perform regular activities of daily living we may tend to overcompensate by asking the opposite side of the body to take on even more than usual.  Is it possible that the dislocation on the right side is also contributing to your current pain level?  The answer is yes that is possible, however, without a formal evaluation I cannot give you an accurate diagnosis.  If you would like to see a physical therapist in your region for a formal evaluation I would be more than happy to locate one for you.

Thanks I returned to work this afternoon and ended up in agony with severe pain down the right hand side of my neck and shoulder do you think that could be from just not moving a lot for the past 6 weeks or could it be related to the other dislocated collar bone.
Thanks

Without a proper evaluation I cannot comment on the associated symptoms you are experiencing.  I would recommend for the time being to contact your surgeon or whom ever is currently conducting your plan of care.  I will say that physical therapy is indicated to avoid any further loss of function however will need to rule out any precautions as a result of your secondary symptoms by your physician.
